ISM is designed for students wishing to mentor an adult professional in a chosen career. Students leave
the high school campus and go to the mentors place of business to study with professionals.

Course Requirements

-3 hours of mentorship activity each week

-2 hours of activity hours each week

-Journal Entry each week documenting your mentorship experiences

-complete an ISM Professional Portfolio showcasing assignments completed during the course and the final
project

-complete a Mid-Term Presentation

 Why did I choose this topic?
Children being overweight seems to be an obvious increasing
problem. Myself, growing up in many sports/athletics
environment, find this kind of odd. Eating healthy and
exercising is at everyones reach, so why are kids (or the
parents) not utilizing it? This is why I chose this topic.
 Current Event
My current event was over new research
that concluded overweight mothers during
pregnancy do not cause their babies to be
born overweight. Researchers suggested
that this is more of a genetics problem,
with BMI and eating habits being passed
down.
