About the project

The aim of our project is to design and manufacture a fully working sequential
transmission from scratch
This includes design of all components including gears, shafts, shifting mechanism
and other such parts
We started with an extensive amount of research material which we had to go
through because this project demands a lot of precision and calculations. This
includes going through research papers, scholarly articles and a multitude of text
books
Since our literature study and calculations are nearly finished, we are about to begin
with the design phase. This is broken down into many steps starting with the
modelling of our transmission all the way to final testing and refinement
The following slides will discuss the basic steps involved in our designing and
manufacturing process

Market Viability
Automotive transmission, especially sequential ones, are not designed in Pakistan.
We have the first movers advantage in this sector.
Economically, our product is very competitive. Regardless of the material used, the
manufacturing will all be done locally and since the design is ours, no extra funds will
be required for that phase.
Motorsports is becoming increasingly popular and the demand for such a product is
increasing in the international market; combined with the low labor cost in Pakistan,
this makes our product a strong competitor in the international market.
An added benefit of this project is that it will give us the expertise to perform
modifications to locally manufactured gearboxes.
The possibility exists for us to become the prime designers of transmissions for the
local automotive industry.
