Multicast VC
New Spectrum Analyzer
AutoSync

PMP AutoSync Feature takes away the

hassle of configuring individual sync
sources on the Access Point (AP)
Once enabled, AutoSync will automatically
get the sync from available sources
(i.e. CMM, external or internal GPS source)
In this mode, the AP will also switch to the
next available source if there is a sync loss
from the current source
AutoSync

Keeps the SM (Subscriber Module) sessions

active
Prior to AutoSync, loss of sync would result
in loss of session for the underlying SM(s)
With AutoSync, the AP selects the next
available sync source without dropping the
underlying SMs registration
If there is no sync source available at all, and
AutoSync is enabled with FreeRun, then AP will
start generating sync while keeping the sessions
active
AutoSync

On PMP 450, status of all the three sync

sources is displayed along with the
selected sync source
Link Test

Primarily used to look at downlink, uplink

and aggregate throughput
Link Test

Look at the downlink and uplink efficiency

Available when SNR calculations are
enabled

A packet is divided up into 64 byte

fragments
i.e. 512 byte packet is divided into 8
individual 64 byte fragments

path and which modulation received at
If transmitting at 8X, 8 fragments sent in

(V QPSK) / (total received all of path V)
30664 / (30664 + 30578 + 30378 + 159) = 33%
Link Test Statistics
Modulation Percentage

Sums up the fragments on that path and

divides for each modulation
Shows what percentage at which
modulation are successfully received
Perfect 8X link would be 25%
6X link will show 33%

Average Corrected Bit Errors

Forward Error Correction records how

many bits were corrected in that fragment
These are averaged for the link test
The lower the number the better
Signal to Noise Ratio is estimated based
upon these bit corrections
Session Status

SM information is now displayed in a

tabular format
Four Tabs: Device, Session, Power and
Configuration
Each column is sortable by clicking on the
up/down arrow in the upper left hand
corner.

Multicast VC

Previously multicast packets were

transmitted as part of the Broadcast VC
(1X).
If the Multicast VC is enabled, multicast
packets can be transmitted downlink at a
configurable data rate (1X, 2X, 4X, 6X) on
a separate VC.
Can be used for IPTV applications.
Multicast VC

Enabled under Configuration Radio

Multicast Data Rate: Supports 1X, 2X, 4X, 6X.

Multicast Data Rate: 1X, 2X, 4X, 6X.

Multicast Downlink CIR: Guaranteed multicast VC

bandwidth, this includes the repeat count as part of the
multicast bandwidth. This is calculated separately from
the Broadcast CIR.
Multicast VC Repeat Count

Transmits multiple copies of a multicast

packet, downlink to the SM
Used to ensure packets are received by a
SM
Will reduce bandwidth of the multicast VC
