OIG Program Guidance for Hospitals

According to the Office of the Inspector General Program Guidance for


Hospitals, policies and procedures should be:
Clearly written, with relevant day-to-day responsibilities
Readily available to individuals who need them
Monitored and reevaluated on a regular basis
Distributed to all directors, officers, managers, employees, contractors, and
medical and clinical staff members.

Establish compliance standards through the development of a code of conduct


and written policies and procedures
Assign compliance monitoring efforts to a designated compliance officer or
contact
Conduct comprehensive training and education on practice ethics and policies
and procedures
