Each profession has a set of ethics usually
called as code.
It may be written or unwritten.
This code tells members what kind of work is
expected from as they practice.
It will state responsibilities of its members .
HOW WAS ICN CODE OF ETHICS MADE ?

The international code of nursing ethics was


adopted by the Grand Council of the
International Council of Nurses at Sao Paulo,
Brazil in 1953.
It was revised by Frankfurt ,Germany in 1965 and
then become known as the ICN code of ethics.
It has been revised and reaffirmed at various
times since, most recently with this review and
revision completed in 2012.
DEFINATION
Ethics are distinction between right and wrong
based on body of knowledge not just based on
opinions.
Ethical code is a set of guidelines formulated
by members of profession with help of
specialist in flied of nursing laeder,advocate at
times member from society.

nursing care.
Promotes an environment in which the human rights,
values, customs and spiritual beliefs of the individual,
family and community are respected.
Individual receives accurate, sufficient and timely
information in a culturally appropriate manner
Holds in confidence personal information
Uses judgement in sharing this information.
Advocates for equity and social justice
Demonstrates professional values such as respectfulness,
responsiveness, compassion, trustworthiness and integrity.
