Q4: FOUNDATIONS of the FUTURE

365 Black History: Magazine Media Moments
November 1, 1945 - First issue of Ebony magazine is published by John
H Johnson. It was persistently upbeat, much like its postwar
contemporary Life. Ebony, edited by John H. Johnson, has striven
always to address African-American issues, personalities and interests
in a positive and self-affirming manner. Its cover photography has
focused on prominent African American public figures, including actors
and entertainers, and politicians, such as Dorothy Dandridge, Mariah
Carey, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, former U.S. Senator Carol Moseley
Braun of Illinois, U.S. President Barack Obama, Zoe Saldana, Tyrese
Gibson, and Tyler Perry.

Then Johnson blessed us again on November 1, 1951 with the weekly

Pearls and Peanutbutter
DESIGN SPOTLIGHT: by
Kwanza Branch
Owner and Lead Designer

My passion started for events many years ago planning my own

special day, my love for the details has remained with me ever
since my first event; to put it simply I just adore all things
creative and beautiful.

This passion created a desire to learn more from the best in this
industry. I am a NYU Alumna with several years of experience
working on corporate events. I recently completed the PB Protege
Program with the renowned Preston Bailey, along with
additional training from The New York Botanical Gardens
Floral Design Program.

Pearls & Peanutbutter is a event and floral design boutique that

specializes in personalized design and floral details. The natural
beauty and art that surrounds our everyday experiences greatly
influences P&PBs designs. Vibrant colors combined with
interesting textures are the foundation of many of our designs. We
treat each occasion as a unique experience, by listening to your
ideas and transforming them into a custom design for your event.

MUSIC ON THE MIND: Jesus Peace NYC (@jesuspeacenyc)
In 2013 Ran & Dame came together to form
Jesus Peace- a rap duo, ministry, and now non
profit. Our philosophy is "Live to give"- and
over the past 4 years we've done just that.
We've given hundreds of meals, thousands of
hours, just as many dollars, tons of lyrics,
songs, poems, lessons, apparel, innumerable
laughs, smiles and high fives all for the cause
and calling that Christ has placed on our
hearts- which is to give all that we are, and all
that we have for
the glory of God,
the salvation of the lost,
and the edification of the church.
Many of you have helped us a great deal along
the way and for that we are grateful. We have
a vision to impact our generation and even
iTunes future generations with the gospel through
Amazon art. Your donations are the provision for the
ALBUM OUT vision.

Jesus Wept!
The Book of Hebrews
Had to repost a snippet of the Word of God shared by my Big Bro Randy
Mason 10/22/17.

who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and
supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save
Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear,
Hebrews 5:7 NKJV

Do you know Jesus poured out Heavenly tears for not only Lazarus, but for
you and me too. Did you know His Divinity was deeply pained by our lack of
empathy toward our own brother and sister? Do you know He was doubled
over, drenched in tears for our misunderstanding of the True Power, The
True Gospel, The True Light?

I pray we all can have but a mustard seed of the aches and pains for our
selves & the neighbors in our lives. I will no longer greet others with 'Jesus
Loves You' alone. I will follow this teaching and greet others with 'Jesus
Wept for Us'.

The towering giants of this world will bow to The Kingdom of God by the
tears of His people. Amen.
