In 15 patients one session bilateral ureteroscopy was performed successfuly , stones were fragmented and
extracted In 6(26.08%) patients bilateral ureteroscopy was performed, in one side the stone was extracted
successfully, in other side the stone was pushed into the kidney. All of 21 had JJ stents.
Multiple procedures, witch included ureteral dilatation, DJ stent for 1 month and another successful bilateral
ureteroscopy were needed in 2 patients.
Conclusions
Percutaneous transarterial embolization of the injured vessel is an effective, minimally invasive and
relatively easy procedure in experienced centers, with high rate of success. Trying to identify all bleeding
vessels during angiography and not using gelatin sponge as the only embolic material could increase
the succes rate.
