Dental Implants are synthetic tooth roots which are used to support one or more artificial tooth.
These metal screws are placed in the jaw bone and replace the absent teeth and help counter
further tooth loss. Once the implant is placed the artificial root makes the original function and it's
difficult to differentiate between an implanted tooth and natural tooth.
Division of Dental
Implants
Crown:
This is the part that shows above the gum.
Abutment:
This is the connector between the implant and the
crown. It screws inside the implants post and holds the
prosthesis or crown in place.
Implant:
This is a titanium post that is placed into the jaw. It
simulates a natural tooth root, so it also helps prevent
bone resorption.
Types of Dental
Implants
Single-tooth Replacement:
An implant can replace a single tooth and help keep the jaw
healthy by continuous stimulation similar to that of a natural
tooth root.
Implant-supported Bridge:
To replace multiple teeth in a standard bridge, the supporting
teeth are reduced to hold the bridge. Implants can provide
more strength without harming the healthy teeth.
Full-arch Replacement:
In some cases, an entire arch of teeth may need to be
replaced. Many people choose dentures as a more affordable
choice, but they can become loose adn wear down the
remaining jaw bone.
Why Dental
Implants Important?
Benefits of Braces:
Step1:
After the tooth is anesthetized, an opening is
made through the crown into the pulp
chamber.
Step2:
The lengths of the roots' canals are determined.
Step3:
Unhealthy pulp is removed. Canals are cleaned, enlartged and
sharped using progressively larger endodontic files.
Step4:
Canals are filled and sealed. A metal post may be added for
structural support or to retain restorative materials.
Step5:
The tooth is sealed with a tempory filling. Usually a gold or
porcelain crown adds further protection
Gum Treatment (PYORRHOEA)
Erosion Cavity:
Infection results when a wisdom teeth hits a
neighboring molar.
Cysts:
Although uncommon, cysts can destroy the bone
and damage other teeth.
Crowling:
When a wisdom teeth pushes hard against other
teeth.
Infection:
An impacted wisdom tooth pushes through the gum
and infection forms around the tooth top.
