User ID Spec Changed

YAPD 2.0 Phase 1 to YAPD 2.0 Phase 5 (13S or before)

- If the User ID for the Windows Login Name includes invalid characters, the User
ID entered is "unknown".
YAPD 2.0 Phase 6 or later (13A or later)
- If the first character of the User ID for the Windows Login Name is an invalid
character, the User ID entered is "unknown".
- If an invalid character is included after the second character of the User ID for
the Windows Login Name, the User ID entered is the string of characters just
before the invalid character.
Windows Login Name (examples) Pre-YAPD 2.0 Phase 6 YAPD 2.0 Phase 6 or Later
Result Result
"-123" "unknown" "unknown"
"123-" "unknown" "123"
"123-456" "unknown" "123"
Note: If the driver eliminates the invalid characters, a problem occurs in solution products such as Ibis and
Apricot. Therefore, the driver does not eliminate the invalid characters. In 15S or later models, we have
requested that the driver be able to accept all ASCII codes (0x21 ~ 0x7e except 0x22) in the User ID input field.

Text Graphics Images
Gray Reproduction K (Black) If R=G=B, use K Use CMYK
(Text/Line Art) CMY + K Use CMYK
K (Black) per Page If R=G=B, use K*
Black/Gray by K-Strong UCR If R=G=B, use K*

*If there is even one object (text, graphics, or image) that is not R=G=B, all images will be printed by using CMYK
toners. Objects that are considered R=G=B for the Black/Gray by K-Strong UCR option will use less CMY toner
than K(Black) per Page.
When the Gray Reproduction is K(Black): When the Gray Reproduction is Black/Gray by K-Strong UCR:

Previously, when printing scanned text, graphics, and/or images, the result was blurry. However,
starting with 13A models they will print more clearly.
Printer: Blank Page Print Whats New

Blank Page Print now supports more PDLs and types of pages
that are considered blank.
This feature restricts the printing of a page that is regarded as a
blank page under the following conditions:
1. Pages that a cursor or pen has not been placed on.
2. Pages that only contain ASCII characters that are displayed as blank,
such as spaces and paragraph breaks.
3. Pages that only contain white text or graphic objects.
4. Pages that include text, objects, and/or images that are completely
out of the printable area.

blank for each PDL and how to set the Blank Page Print
function.

This feature also can be set by specifying the Ricoh-defined PJL
environment variable WHITEPAPERSUPPRESS in a job. For example:
@PJL SET WHITEPAPERSUPPRESS = ON
Printer: Blank Page Print Limitations

Pages with white images are not regarded as blank.

If a page contains only a white image, the page
appears white. However, it is not regarded as a blank
page and is always printed regardless of the Blank
Page Print setting.
For example, this page contains a white JPEG image. Nothing is
displayed on this page, but it is not regarded as a blank page and
is printed out even if Blank Page Print is set to Off.
