started from scrap.

Who is an entrepreneur???
 Entrepreneurship is defined as the process of making money,
earning profits and increasing the wealth while posing
characteristics such as risk taking, management, leadership
and innovation. The term entrepreneurship is a complicated
term and gives various meaning depending on the situation.
 The word entrepreneur has a French origin. It originated
during the Middle Ages when the term entrepreneur was
applied to “the man in charge of the great architectural works:
castles and fortifications, public buildings, abbeys and cathedrals”.
It is derived from the French word, entreprendre, which
means “to undertake.” In a business context, it means to
undertake a business activity or simply to start a business.
The Merriamtebster Dictionary defines an entrepreneur as
‘one who organizes, manages, and assumes the risks of a
business or enterprise’.

1. Mr. ARJUN WALLIA
 Founder of Walson Service Private Limited.
 It provides security, Facility management and
technological and enginering solution to
customers.
 Started from a friends garage at an initial
investement of 25,000 in 1996.
 Recently operates in 47 countries and 180 cities
in India.
 He got is first contract of 2000 per month.

 Today it is working with over 40,000 workforce
in 180 cities in India.
 In 2007, It made an partnership with sweden
company SECURITAS AB, and purchased 51% of
its shares and Mr. Walia is currently the CEO of
Securitas India.
 Mr. Walia has recently established Walson HR
solution, which deals with the facility
management.
2. SUNIL MAHESWARI
 THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND CO-
FOUNDER OF MANGO TECHNOLOGIES
PVT. LTD.
 Mango Technologies is one of the 'Top TenStartup
Companies of 2008.
 In 2007, he won the top innovation award from Nasscom
and recently, BusinessWorld named him one of the top
five entrepreneurs in India. Sunil had managed the team
that designed the first 'Designed in India' mobile set and
the world's first dual SIM phone.
 Mango Technologies is a software solution provider for
all low and medium segment mobilephones.
Desire to be an entrepreneur
 Sunil took the first risk in his career by
quitting his job at Reliance Infocom to join
a startupcompany.
 Then along with his colleague he designed
the first 'Designed in India' handset. It was
also the first dual SIM phone.
The idea germinates
 LekhJoshi and Sunil Maheshwari joined
hands and in the year 2006 started
Mango Technologies in Bangalore with less
than Rs.10 lakhs
 They hired two people, and started
building a complete operating system
for mobiles
The Challenge
 Indians are cost-conscious consumers.
 It was a big challenge to make a set
suitable for this kind of market.
 Mango Technologies started partnering
with Texas Instruments first and then
started working with Qualcomm, which has
20-25% of the world market in mobiles

in 2007-08
 Mint and Wall Street Journal wrote Mango
Technologies as part of the top ten startup
companies of 2008
 Recently, Mango Technologies was in the
top ten innovators list published by
BusinessWorld
Jan Koum

 Jan Koum, the founder of WhatsApp, was


born in a small village near Kiev in
Ukraine.
 Coming from poverty, Koum's family
emigrated to California, and Koum started
learning about computers in his spare
time.
 By the time he was 18, he had developed
impressive skills, and in 1997, he was hired
by Yahoo! as an infrastructure engineer.

He spent a decade in that industry before
realizing the huge potential of the app
industry in 2009 and starting WhatsApp
Inc.
 By 2014, WhatsApp had become
enormously popular. Facebook bought the
app for a staggering $19 billion.
Conclusion
 If you notice the percentage of
entrepreneurs which started from
nothing are the richest and the most
successful entrepreneurs of the world.
 Almost all of them are college dropouts
or are poor.
 The conclusion is if you want to be
successful follow your dreams, one day
you will be the person who will leave a
hole in the universe.
