CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR)

 CPR is the term used for the urgent treatment needed to overcome the inadequacy
of one or all of these functions. It may simply concern in keeping an open airway and
turning an unconscious patient to the side or it may mean giving air to the lungs
(artificial respiration) or compressing the chest so that the blood circulates inside the
body.
WHEN WE DO KARPA

We do it ONLY:
 When our victim does NOT breathe
 When he does NOT have his senses.
THE PROCEDURE WHICH FOLLOWED BEFORE CPR
1-ST STEP:

 Approach safely (check the area for your personal safety)

 Check for reaction (shake your shoulders carefully and ask loudly ''Are you okay'')
 Scream for help (lift your arm and shout loudly)
2-OND STEP:

Rescue resuscitation:

 Keeping the airway open (with head extension and

chin lift) use two of your fingers on the forehead
and extend the head to close the nose.
 With the other hand, hold the chin lifted, allowing
the mouth to open.
 Place your lips tightly around the victim's mouth
and breathe normally.
 Observe the victim's chest to see if the chest rises
during rescue sprains.
 Each blowing must be sufficient to cause the
victim's chest to lift up
 Check the victim's mouth and remove any visible
obstructive object
3-D STEP:

30 chest compressions:
 Place the victim in a supine position and on a hard surface.
 Place the palm of one hand in the center of the chest.
 With your other hand, touch the first one and knit your
fingers.
 Come in a good vertical position above the victim's chest
with stretched elbows and shoulders.
 Press the sternum 5-6 cm.
 Then, stop the pressure, allowing the chest to relax
completely, but do not lose touch of your hands with the
victim's chest.
 The chest compression rate should be between 100-120 per
minute.
