accurate and flawless construction informations.
• Is a medium to communicate those construction informations
to the contractors/ construction managers.
• Is a fact.

• To prepare the list of materials and equipments required in a project.

SHEET FORMATING: TITLE BLOCK
Items to be shown in the title block:
 Name and address of the project
 Name of the design professional/ student
 Name of the owner
 Registration seal of the professional/ Roll no.
 Date, sheet is completed and checked/ pre review
 Date, sheet is released for construction/ pre final submission/final submission

SHEET NUMBERING
For large projects (more than 10 drawing sheets) sheets may be numbered
as follows:
“A” series: for all architectural drawings eg: A01, A-01………… etc.
“S” series: for all structural drawings eg: S01, S-01………. etc.
“L” series: for all drawings related to landscaping and like nature
“P” series: for all plumbing drawings
“E” series: for all electrical drawings
“M” series: for all mechanical drawings
COVER SHEET
• Vicinity or location map
• Complete name of the project
• Full address of the job site
• Name of the design professional (s) and different consultants
associated with the project
• Name of the Owner
• Registration seal ( roll no.) of the design professional
• Date of issue of all drawings for bidding/ construction/ final submission
• Some features/ rendering of the project on cover sheet (optional)
• Index of all drawings contained within the set: shows the sheet no. and
sheet title
Rules for Dimensioning

 In applying rules, “clarity” prevails


􀁺 Dimension lines should be outside the part outline
􀁺 Dimension lines should not cross each other
􀁺 Don’t double dimension, no redundant dimensions
􀁺 Pick the view that most clearly describes the feature
􀁺 Place dimensions between views when possible
􀁺 Dimension to solid lines instead of hidden lines
􀁺 Place smallest dimension first, largest farthest from profile
􀁺 Use one dimension system (unidirectional)
􀁺 Leave a small gap between extension line and feature
􀁺 Extension lines do not cross unless unavoidable
