Background of the study
• E-cigarettes are devices that vaporize liquid
typically comprising nicotine, propylene
glycol, glycerine and flavourings.
• E-cigarettes are now the most commonly
used tobacco products among youth.
• E-cigarette is associated with the use of
other tobacco products including
combustible tobacco.
• 70% adult smokers in Philippines see e-
cigarette as alternative to tobacco product.
• E-cigarette is not a proven nicotine
replacement therapy and according to WHO
there is no scientific evidence to conform the
product’s safety and efficacy.
Statement of the problem
• Why do people use e-cigarette and what is the
profile of e-cigarette smokers?
Objectives
• General Objective
General objective of the study is to
determine the risk factors associated to e-
cigarette smoking among the vape shop
customers in Zamboanga City.
• Specific Objectives
1.To determine the profile of e-cigarette
smoking customers of vape shop.
2.To determine the risk factors for vaping
among the vape shop customers.
Significance of the study
• This study will determine the risk factors of
vaping.
• This study hopes that through this public health
educators will be aware about the e-cigarette
smoking problem and subsequently be
challenged to see vaping as a public health issue.
