 Investigate the heat transfer characteristics of

titanium dioxide based nanofluids by using

tube in tube counter flow heat exchanger for
different concentration
 Thermal properties of fluids play a decisive
role in heating as well as cooling applications
in industrial processes
 enhance the inherently poor thermal
conductivity of these conventional heat
transfer fluids using solid additives (nano
particles)
 base fluid with nano-sized particles (1–100
nm)
 increase conduction and convection
coefficients, allowing for more heat transfer
out of the coolant
 naturally occurring oxide of titanium
 Generally it is sourced from ilmenite, rutile
and anatase
 Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a
computer-based numerical tool used to study
the fluid flow, heat transfer behaviour
 set of mathematical model equations are first
developed following conservation laws. These
equations are then solved using a computer
programme in order to obtain the flow
variables throughout the computational
domain.
 Design a tube in tube arrangement
 Obtain control values for titanium dioxide for
different concentration values from journals
 Analyze using CFD software
 Obtain the result
