Prohibit LTE capable UE units with no LTE

subscription to select LTE cells.

Prevent UE units offloaded from LTE due to high load,

from going back to LTE directly, when transferring
from dedicated to Idle or URA mode in UTRAN.

Shorten LTE cell reselection time for UE units in a

shared network UTRAN.

Way of Cell reselection has been changed by sending

dedicated priorities that override the absolute priorities .

CS Fallback from LTE (FAJ 121 1610)

for the LTE network.

If a CS capable device is registered

in LTE & received or tries to make a
CS call then the UE will be moved to
WCDMA to make the CS call.

The device receives WCDMA

frequency information from LTE
RAN and is told to go to WCDMA.

The device will then go to idle mode

and measures/camps in WCDMA.

In MOC UE initiates speech call in WCDMA

Packet Switched Handover (PSHO) from LTE (FAJ 121 3427)

PSHO from LTE is a new type of IRATHO, which enables active

mode connectivity of PS connections when UE moves
from LTE to UTRAN.

PSHO from LTE feature provides the function to transfer one or

a number of already established PS connections
from LTE to UTRAN.

When UE, in connected mode, moves into an area with

bad LTE radio coverage, the feature moves the PS connections
of UE to UTRAN during ongoing service.

The PSHO from LTE is initiated by LTE RAN, and UTRAN is

not informed about the triggering reason.

Parameters & counters

Parameter Description
Indicates whether the coverage area of the cell indicated by the cell relation has approximately
the same coverage area (overlap) as this cell, or whether it fully covers this cell, or if it is fully
coverageIndicator contained in this cell
mobilityAction Preferred way to transfer UE in connected mode to a specific WCDMA frequency
Routing area code of a routing area

The value -1 of the attribute is used to mark that the optional RAC IE should not be sent in the
rac Target ID IE of the HANDOVER REQUIRED S1 message.
Location area code of the external UTRAN cell

A fixed-length code identifying the location area within a PLMN. The value 0 of the attribute is
used to mark invalid or unusable location area code information for the cell. For example,
handover to an external UTRAN cell (that is part of a UTRAN cell relation) can be considered only
if the value of the location area code attribute is not 0.
