Summary
● Strategic Arms Limitation Talks or SALT for

● SALT was a series of conferences and
corresponding treaties involving the United
States and Soviet Union
● It was attempting to restrict the amount of
nuclear weapons used in the Cold War
● There were two talks and agreements, SALT I
and SALT II
Impact

● This treaty caused there to be less tension in


the Cold War because there was less weapons
to use against each other
