INTRODUCTION
A traverse survey is one in which framework consists of a series of connected lines,

the length and direction of which are measured with the help of tape or chain and

an angle measuring instrument.

The angles are measured by theodolite and the distance can be measured by

calculating the stadia’s reading or using electronic distance measuring

equipment

For our group, we re given task at area K, which is near main entrance of MSN

Saujana Asahan, Melaka. The station that given to us is S33-S22.

AIM
Fieldwork procedures of established horizontal control network.

Traverse is to form connection line using the value of bearing and

distance in closed loop.

To form coordinate value based on the data of bearing and distance:

 To produce plan of the site area
 To get the boundaries of site area
EQUIPMENTS

PROCEDURE
1. Planning and reconnaise
2. Pegging traverse station
3. Establish datum

There are several steps which followed and lead to a smooth traverse:
1. The instrument installed over the station.
2. The instrument turned and sight foresight station.
3. The instrument turned to face foresight station.
4. Face left horizontal reading to face foresight station is recorded.
5. The mean bearing foresight station were calculated.
6. The instrument moved to the next station.
7. For the next traverse line bearing was respected or corresponded to the previous mean
bearing.
DATA ANALYSIS
DATA ANALYSIS
DISCUSSION
Traverse station also should be measured continuously using clockwise.

There are few factors which might influence the reading that obtained:
 Human factor: the reading is not consistence due to many observers
recorded the value.

 Environmental factor: the hot weather disturbed the concentration of

observer till hard to focus on prisms.

 Equipment factor: the tripod might be not in a stable condition, the

consistency of the bubble position might be not at the middle or in the
circle range and the consistency of the cross section at the prism
might be slightly not at the intersection while reading is obtained.
CONCLUSION

We obtained 21 sec for the error; the error range limit per each station is 20 sec. Our

error is accepted since the value is under the limit range.

As recommendation, to minimize the errors obtained while doing the task, the

instrument should be setted up properly, where the consistency of the bubble

inside the ring range should accurate and take the reading for several times so

that it will not effected the data.
