RAN capacity is reviewed and issues reported weekly basis focusing for the
following network elements and interfaces:
• Radio capacity – Radio power, common channel loading and
channelization codes
• BTS capacity – base band processing and HSDPA users capacity
• Iub capacity – access transmission user plane capacity
• RNC capacity – connectivity and user plane loading capacity
AMR usage is well below the max capacity (please refer to the slide 13 regarding max RNC AMR
capacity)
DL Iub hroughput is well below the max capacity (please refer to the slide 13 regarding max RNC Iub
throughput capacity)
The number of RRC connected users is well below the max capacity (please refer to the slide 13
regarding max RNC capacity)
The number of simultaneous HSDPA users capacity depends on DMPG HW type and HSDPA UL
return channel bitrate allocations. However, there is no currently issue with the RNC HSDPA users
capacity.

DSP Resource Allocation Success for HSDPA
The NRT PS R99 services have low DSP resource allocation success rate in RNC TuguRajaPaseh
DCH-DMPG pool has very low resource availability, i.e. 0% during busy hours. The problem is most
probably related to HW or SW issue instead of real traffic load. The issue has been escalated to the
PL (case id NA04751825).

RNC ICSU Unit Load
The average DMPG unit loading has no issue except in RNC Tugurajapaseh.
DCH-DMPG pool loading is reaching 80% in RNC Tugurajapaseh due to current performance issue.
RNC No issues.
