• We have had over 250 people or family members report
their diagnosis of cancer on our facebook page Satellite
Beach Health and Hope for Tomorrow. The health
department reports they received over 500 phone calls
with approximately 300 cases reported. However, these are
rough estimates and difficult for statistical significance.

between 1967 and 1983. The Orlando Sentinel called the cases “an
unusually high incidence” of the extremely rare cancer, which affects about
8,500 people in the United States each year, according to the American

 Questions to be Answered:
• What other trends will we find in the data?
• Final mapping of the cases in progress!
• Statistical significance?
• What (if anything environmental) is causing this pattern of possible
increased cancer in younger adults?
• How can the local and state health department help us with a
formal investigation?
• Can our blood be tested for the PFOA/PFOS chemicals like some
states are currently testing?
• Can screening guidelines be made to help those who may have
been exposed catch cancer earlier?
• Can our local, state, and federal agencies and politicians help us
with this? Please continue to write them!
