 CHALLENGES FACED IN 1990’S

Exploration and planning data were stored in physical forms – tapes and
films.

Info from oil well surveys was stored digitally – but no common storage.

Data consolidation and analysis proved to be difficult for managers.

Legacy system made access to data difficult.

Exposure Prevention Information Network (EPINet) – web enabled

data management system.
EPINet manages both legacy and current data and provides an
integrated database throughout the company.
Facilitated centralized access to current data through web based
reporting feature.
It makes info available on real time basis and also eliminates the
problem of data duplicity.
