Claims:
Mothers boyfriend started ”a lot of mess.”
Arguments occurred between Jane and the mothers boyfriend
Mothers boyfriend is manipulative with mother
Mothers boyfriend removed Janes door in her bedroom
Mother admitted Jane to hospital claiming she had a mental illness
Jane was admitted to a behavioral health treatment facility for one week.
Facility recommended Jane not return home to obtain mental health stability.

The framework used to conduct the case presentation interview was person-
centered approach and P.I.E.
Client-centered: The client is the expert of her life and therefore as intake form
nor an assessment was conducted. The client shared from her perspective about
the situation she was in.
P.I.E: The client was considered within her environment. When looking at strengths
and limitations, support system, and the reason she has a GAL, we see that her
environment contributed to her current situation. We also note that the
environment continues to impact her situation as a foster child.
Interviewer’s Reflection
What are some biases you had going into the interview?
During the interview I noted my assumption that the client was heterosexual.
I expected the client to not want to share what she went through
What were some value differences between you and the client?
Religious belief, value of parents
What events or life experiences have shaped them into the person they are?
Mothers life choices has caused Jane to always go live for extended periods with a family
member. Such frequent event have shaped her character.
What is the staff recommendation about diagnosis, Interventions or treatment?
DSS and GAL recommends custody with a relative
What changes do recommend for the agency or service (Needs of agency, changes,
and rights issues)? Report those to supervisor.
Changes pertaining to DSS: Funding for child’s needs such as school material
No changes observed for GAL.
