History

 US Continental Congress created the Continental Army and


established the 1st Light Dragoons.
 US Cavalry would be involved in every major US Conflict since
American War of Independence.
 Breakthrough in technology led to early tank development.
 Since WWII, the Armored Corps proved essential in every major US
conflict.
 Officially became permanent branch in 1950
 Calvary branch was absorbed into Armor

 The mission of the M1A2 Abrams tank
is to close with and destroy enemy
force using firepower, maneuver,
and shock effect.

 1 x 7.62mm M240 machine gun in the loader’s hatch
 2 x 6 smoke grenade dischargers
Current M1A1 and M1A2 versions are equipped with:
 1 x 120mm M256A1 smoothbore main gun
 1 x .50 caliber M1HB air-cooled anti-aircraft heavy
machine gun
 1 x 7.62mm M240 co-axial machine gun
 1 x 7.62mm M240 machine gun in the loader’s hatch
