THE CHANGE OF 2013 CURRICULUM
Research Question:
1. How are English teachers’ perception of the
implementation of the 2013 curriculum in English
teaching-learning process at Senior High Schools in
Sungai Apit District?
2. What are the factors which influence English teachers’
perception of the implementation of the 2013
curriculum in English teaching learning process at
Senior High Schools in Sungai Apit District?
The Concept of Perception
 perception is as a process by which individuals attend
to incoming stimuli, organize, and interpret such
stimuli into message that in turn indicate an
appropriate action or behaviour. (Szilagyi and
Wallace)
 Perception is the process by which organisms interpret
and organize sensation to produce a meaningful
experience of the world
 (Lindsay & Norman)
 Perception is a process of organizing, interpreting
the stimulus received by individuals so that it
becomes something meaningful and an integrated
activity within the individual (Bimo Warlito )

 Eric B.Shiraev revealed that experience will shape


and influence perception.

from surrounding through human sense
Six Factors Influencing Perception:
 Stereotype -> people’s judgement
 Selectivity -> like or dislike
 self-concept -> someone’s experience previously (in
the past)
 Situation -> feeling comfortable or not toward
something
 Needs, and

The Implementation of 2013 Curriculum

 Implementation  a process of applying ideas,


concepts, policies or innovations, in a practical action
to give impact, whether in the form of knowledge,
skills, values and attitudes. (E.Mulyasa)
The implementation phase of the
curriculum:
 Design affective and meaningful learning (RPP)
 organize learning (source;media or tools)
 choose appropriate learning approaches (scientific
appproach)
 Understanding basic of 2013 curriculum (student
center)
Research Design: Qualitative with a multiple-
case study design.

Research Sites: Three senior high schools in Sungai


district ( SMAN 1, SMKN1 and Madrasah
Aliyah Nurul Hidayah Sungai Apit)
