 ESTERO SALADO

 The Estero Salado, Ecuador; it is an estuarine system composed of a

complex network of drainages. From the geomorphological and
oceanographic point of view it is an arm of the sea.
 WATER CONTAMINATION

 The greenish water remains stagnant,

producing an unpleasant odor.

 There they see waste of all kinds:

bottles, bags... In the middle of that
environment appear sewer pipes of
sewage that fall from the houses.
 WATER CONTAMINATION
 The accumulation of garbage
generates diseases to the inhabitants
of the area near the river.

 The Municipality of Guayaquil

decided to start cleaning the estuary.

 People living on the banks of the

estuary were relocated.

 CAUSES DISEASES

 DOES NOT ALLOW THE USE OF THE AREA

 HOW TO CONTROL POLLUTION

 Avoid throwing plastic, glass, cans and

garbage in rivers.

 Punish people or industries that view

waste to the Estero Salado.

 Create campaigns to make people

aware of the care of the environment.
RECOVERY OF ESTERO SALADO

1) Cleaning and collection of floating solids and final disposal of

waste.

2) Citizen awareness

3) Control, monitoring and punishment.

1) Collaboration and participation
with boats and personnel to clean,
both in schools and institutions, in
the sectors of direct influence of the
project. Collaboration in observation
tours and studies requested by

the control organisms and

universities.
2) Identification of favorable sites for

sowing, construction of seedbeds, sowing of the 4 types of

original mangroves of the estuary according to the substrate.

3) Educational campaigns are created for the care of the
environment, these were taught in the areas near the river
and industries that discharged waste.
4) Prevention action: talk with offenders to motivate
them to
keep the estuary clean, delivery of citations
warning.
