Morphology
Inflection is a morphological
process that adapts existing
words so that they function
effectively in sentences
without changing the
category of the base
morpheme. English has the
following inflectional suffixes:

-allomorphs that
are not
phonologically "Bad - worse is a case of suppletion. Worse is
similar. clearly semantically related to bad in exactly the
same way as, for example, larger is related to large,
but there is no morphological relationship between
the two words, i.e. there is no phoneticsimilarity
between them."
LEXICAL CONDITIONING- choice of allomorph depends on the
particular word the morpheme is attach.
