HORTATORY EXPOSITION

Hortatory Exposition is a type of English text

which represents the author’s attempt to
influence the reader to do something or act in a
particular way.
GENERIC STRUCTURES

1. Thesis it is about statement the writer

2. Arguments Series of argument or opinions which
strengthen the thesis stated before.
3. Recommendation The writer gives
recommendation or suggestion to the reader.
What we have learnt :

The purpose of hortatory text intentionally asks and tries to persuade the
reader to follow what the writer think.
What difficulties we found:

Sometimes we found in hortatory text the argument and recommendation

is not relevant each other.
 solution

 We need to understand the hortatory text better by re-reading

 We need to get better at grammar of the text
