TERMS
MISSION STATEMENT

• A mission statement is a short statement of why an organization


exists, what its overall goal is, identifying the goal of its operations:
what kind of product or service it provides, its primary customers or
market, and its geographical region of operation.
REFERENCE

• Reference is a relation between objects in which one object


designates, or acts as a means by which to connect to or link to,
another object. The first object in this relation is said to refer to the
second object. It is called a name for the second object.
ABSENTEEISM

• Absenteeism is a habitual pattern of absence from a duty or


obligation without good reason. Generally, absenteeism is
unplanned absences. Absenteeism has been viewed as an indicator
of poor individual performance, as well as a breach of an implicit
contract between employee and employer.
TARDINESS

• Tardiness is the habit of being late or delaying arrival. Being late as a


form of misconduct may be formally punishable in various
arrangements, such as workplace, school, etc. An opposite
personality trait is punctuality.
AMPHETAMINE

• Amphetamine is a potent central nervous system stimulant that is


used in the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder,
narcolepsy, and obesity. Amphetamine was discovered in 1887 and
exists as two enantiomers: levoamphetamine and
dextroamphetamine.
BARBITURATE

• A barbiturate is a drug that acts as a central nervous system


depressant, and can therefore produce a wide spectrum of effects,
from mild sedation to death. Barbiturates are effective as
anxiolytics, hypnotics, and anticonvulsants, but have physical and
psychological addiction potential.
BULLYING

• School Bullying is a type of bullying, that occurs in any educational


setting. For an act to be considered bullying it must meet certain
criteria. This includes hostile intent, imbalance of power, repetition,
distress, and provocation.
CANNABINOIDS

• A cannabinoid is one of a class of diverse chemical


compounds that acts on cannabinoid receptors in cells that
alter neurotransmitter release in the brain. Ligands for these
receptor proteins include the endocannabinoids, the
phytocannabinoids, and synthetic cannabinoids.
COMPROMISE

• To compromise is to make a deal between different parties


where each party gives up part of their demand. In
arguments, compromise is a concept of finding agreement
through communication, through a mutual acceptance of
terms—often involving variations from an original goal or
desires.
CONFIDENTIALITY

• Confidentiality involves a set of rules or a promise usually


executed through confidentiality agreements that limits
access or places restrictions on certain types of information.
CONSTRUCTIVE
CRITICISM

• Constructive criticism is the process of offering valid and


well-reasoned opinions about the work of others, usually
involving both positive and negative comments, in a friendly
manner rather than an oppositional one.
HALLUCINOGEN

• A hallucinogen is a psychoactive agent


which can cause hallucinations,
perceptual anomalies, and other
substantial subjective changes in
thoughts, emotion, and consciousness.
The common types of hallucinogens
are psychedelics, dissociatives and
deliriants.
HARASSMENT

• Harassment covers a wide range of behaviors of an offensive


nature. It is commonly understood as behavior that
demeans, humiliates or embarrasses a person, and it is
characteristically identified by its unlikelihood in terms of
social and moral reasonableness.
INITIATIVE

• In political science, an initiative is a means by which a


petition signed by a certain minimum number of registered
voters can force a public vote in parliament called an indirect
initiative or via a direct initiative, the latter then being
dubbed a Popular initiated Referendum.
LEADERSHIP

• Leadership is both a research area and a practical skill encompassing


the ability of an individual or organization to "lead" or guide other
individuals, teams, or entire organizations.
METHAMPHETAMINE

• Methamphetamine is a powerful, highly addictive stimulant


that affects the central nervous system. Also known as meth,
chalk, ice, and crystal, among many other terms, it takes the
form of a white, odorless, bitter-tasting crystalline powder
that easily dissolves in water or alcohol.
OPIATES

• Opiate is a term classically used in


pharmacology to mean a drug
derived from opium. Opioid, a more
modern term, is used to designate all
substances, both natural and
synthetic, that bind to opioid
receptors in the brain. Opiates are
alkaloid compounds naturally found
in the opium poppy plant Papaver
somniferum.
PROFESSIONALISM

• A professional is a member of a profession or any person


who earns their living from a specified professional activity.
SELF-PRESENTATION

• Self-presentation refers to how people attempt to present


themselves to control or shape how others (called the
audience) view them. It involves expressing oneself and
behaving in ways that create a desired impression. Self-
presentation is part of a broader set of behaviors called
impression management.
SEXUAL-HARASSMENT

• Sexual harassment is bullying or coercion of a sexual nature


and the unwelcome or inappropriate promise of rewards in
exchange for sexual favors. Sexual harassment includes a
range of actions from mild transgressions to sexual abuse or
assault.
SYNTHETIC DRUGS

• Synthetic cannabinoids are a class of molecules that bind to


cannabinoid receptors in the body. They are designer drugs
that are commonly sprayed onto plant matter and are
usually smoked, although since 2016 they have also been
consumed in a concentrated liquid form in the US and UK.
TACTFUL

WORK ETHIC

• Work ethic is a belief that hard work and diligence have a moral
benefit and an inherent ability, virtue or value to strengthen
character and individual abilities. It is a set of values centered on
importance of work and manifested by determination or desire to
work hard.
ZERO TOLERANCE

rule, with the intention of eliminating undesirable conduct. ...
