Introduction

3
What is transforming robot?
A transforming robot is a robot that can change or transform
itself to take the appearance or form of another object.

4
Objectives:

 To build a robot that can achieve various modes of

locomotion.

 The proposed design tries to overcome the difficulty faced by

current robots.

 To overcome various static and dynamic obstacles in its path

by operating through different structures.

5
Tasks description:
 1.Passing through narrow spaces

 2.Overcoming heights

 3.Passing through inclined surfaces

 4.Passing through irregular surfaces

6
Hardware

7
Arduino mega 2560 R3

8
Servo SG90
 Total 20 servo motors are used to connect the various links of robot
 Operating voltage:4.8 to 6v
 Operating speed 0.12sec/60 degree

9
Bluetooth module HC-05
 Typical -80dBm sensitivity
 Low Power 1.8V Operation, 1.8 to 3.6V I/O
 Connect with android app

10
Chassis:
 Aluminium made joints for connecting motors.
 Acrylic glass for supporting Arduino and battery.

11
Live streaming device
 A camera is used for accessing live video on our laptop or mobile.

12
Lithium-ion polymer battery
 Lithium-ion polymer battery is used for power purpos
 6volts
 3200mh

14
Control and operation

15
 Controlled by user through an android app.

 The path hurdle will be judged by user through the live

video coming from the camera on the robot.

16
Bluetooth module operation:

 controlled via android app

 5 buttons added on the app

 each button is for specific task

17
Executions of tasks :
 signal via Bluetooth module gives the specific order

 each command from app triggers the specific transformation

 Bluetooth module receives the command and the controller

executes the specified task

 According to each task specified angles of servo motors are

changed.
18
Task 1:
 After series of transformations the final position of robot is shown.
In this position robot can pass through narrowspace as minimum as
we can.

19
Task 2:
 Next position of robot is shown. It can overcome heights.
We are trying to achieve maximum height it can.

20
Task 3:
 Robot has ability to climb up the
inclined surfaces.

21
Task 4 :
 To move through irregular surfaces,It changes its anatomy
and crawls like soldiers.

22
Operation of live streaming
 Controlled via app

 Mobile camera is used.

 Video is streamed both locally and via cloud

 Streaming video is accessible on multiple gadgets

23
Applications

24
Passing through irregular surface:
The robot has the capability of passing through the irregular
surfaces where wheels are stucked by crawling like a soldier.

Overcoming heights:
Robot can do special tasks where height is
a problem by transforming.

25
Military operations:
It can be used to dispose the bomb ,thus minimizing the risk of losing
the soldiers lives.

26
Spying purposes:
Transforming robots can be used to spy in the enemies grounds because of
having the ability to transform according to different situations and can be
easily controlled through wireless camera.

27
Rescue operations:
It can be used in rescue operation where human feasibility
is difficult or impossible, like providing first
aid kit etc.

28
Planet explorers:

Transforming robots can be used to

explore other planets, getting important
data and sending it to earth, making it
easy due to having ability to pass
through narrow spaces ,overcoming
heights and passing through inclined
surfaces.

29
Medical :
These robots can be used in medical field to minimize the human
error and making the surgeries of the important body parts easy and time saving.

Industry purposes:
Can be used for industrial assistance making different products by
transforming and thus minimizing the cost of other machines as one robot doing
different tasks.

Agriculture:
Helps to maintain acres of land by performing different tasks like
spraying the fields, harvesting the crops etc. By applying different sensors crops
can be managed easily and thus increasing the producing rate.

30
Future scope

 These transforming robots can be made autonomous.

 Including more transformations in a single robot.

 Increasing the rate of change of transformations.
