INTRODUCTION
• In world now the energy demand
increases rapidly
• So to fulfilling energy demands
more fossil fuels are used which will
be extinguish if they are used at
such a rate
• So renewable energy are need to be
used more and more as they freely
available
• Also uses of greener power reduces
pollution and global warming.
ELECTRIC VEHICLES
• An electric vehicles is an
automobiles that is
propelled by one or more
electric motors, using
electrical energy stored in
energy storage deice.
• The primary components
are motor, controller, power
source, and transmission.
THE IMPORTANCE OF ELECTRIC
VECHILES

• Electricity is cheaper than fuel. It can come from renewable

resources such as solar and wind power
• Electric vehicles' pollutes less than fuel vehicles
• Cheapness in amount of fuel consumed
• Produce 27% less CO2 than fuel vehicles
• Help to reduce greenhouse gas emission
• The vehicles are more reliable and required less maintenance than
fuel car
• Reduce noise pollution
Why we need electric vehicles

• Over dependence on petrol/ diesel

• Rising petrol/diesel
• Pollution and the resultant global warming
• Noise in conventional vehicles
• Need alternate power sources
• Need for Eco friendly
• EV, HEV-
Disadvantages
• High Initial cost- Many times that of conventional
vehicles
• Short Driving Range-Range anxiety
• Recharging takes much longer time than refueling
• Lack of charging infrastructure
• Battery pack takes space and weight of vehicles
Commercial vehicles

• Toyota Prius
• Toyota Highkander
• Ford Escape
• Mercury Mariner
• Honda insight
• Honda Civic HEV
• Honda accord HEV
Challenges
• Time of battery changing is long
• Battery are heavy(100kg extra weight approx)
• Batteries are expensive
• Low performance in hot or cold temperature also may damage
the battery
• Very sensitive to overcharging/undercharge(battery life
reduce)
• Contain toxic heavy metals , disposal issues
Load Management
Challenges

• the potential overloads

• voltage deviations
• power losses
• stresses
Measures:-
It is based on Smart Load Management(SLM)
approaches which deal with the following:-

• peak demand shaving

• improving voltage profile
• minimizing power losses
• charging time zones based on a priority selection
scheme
Outcomes:-
• Equalized load distribution
• High efficiency at generation end
• Less stress in distribution
Conclusion
At the end ,we draw a conclusion that electric vehicle not
only reduces the carbon emission level by a great margin,
it also helps in load management. By the year 2030, 54.6%
of the combustion cars will be over drawn by plug in
electric cars. This will be a great initiative for environment
protection.
