Flow 3D Tipos de simulación

• As a general-purpose CFD package, FLOW-3D has an extensive array

of physical and numerical capabilities that have been developed over
its 37-year history, such as incompressible free-surface internal and
hypersonic external flow, heat transfer, turbulence, moving and
deforming solids, surface tension and phase change. These models
allow our users to successfully apply FLOW-3D to solve a wide range
of engineering and scientific problems, optimize designs and gain
insight into complex processes.

• In a FLOW-3D simulation, a general moving object (GMO) is a rigid
body with any kind of motion that is either user-prescribed or
dynamically coupled with fluid flow. It can have six-degrees-of-
freedom or motion constraints such as a fixed axis/point. Prescribed
forces and torques can be applied on a GMO under coupled motion.
The GMO model allows multiple rigid bodies under independent
motion types as well as rigid body interactions including collisions and
continuous contact. The model is robust, efficient and powerful and is
the only one of its kind in commercial computational fluid dynamics
software.
Metal Casting Models
• FLOW-3D CAST contains a wide variety of physical models specially
designed for metal casting. It offers the most accurate solutions to all
kinds of metal casting applications and concerns. With it, our
customers are constantly improving casting yield and quality, in less
time and with lower costs.
• With special capabilities for accurately predicting free-surface
flows, FLOW-3D CAST is the first choice in simulating mold filling and
related defects, such as air entrapment. The powerful and flexible
heat transfer model can quickly and accurately predict the thermal
exchange between the metal and the mold, and lays a solid
foundation for solidification, cooling channel, and thermal die cycling
simulations.
Cavitation
• Cavitation is the rapid evolution of vapor and/or gas bubbles within
fluid due to very low pressure in fluid flow, or due to a rise in
temperature, which raises the saturation pressure.

• A high-speed bullet moving through a tank of water can be simulated,
which shows the cavitating plume trailing the bullet due to the low
pressures generated by it. The bullet’s initial speed is 600m/s. Below
is an animation of the bullet’s motion in the tank and the trailing
cavitating fluid. The radius of the cavitating plume narrows as the
bullet moves through the water due to its deceleration.

Cheetah3D
• The Dynamics feature in Cheetah3D is used to simulate rigid body and
soft body dynamics (physics). Hereby Cheetah3D relies on the
industry proven Bullet Physics engine which was already used for
many Hollywood block busters.
• To create a physical simulation you first have to tell Cheetah3D which
objects of your scene should be part of the dynamics simulation.
Therefore you have to assign the appropriate dynamics tags to these
objects. For creating a rigid body assign a Rigid body tag, for creating
a soft body assign a Soft Body Tag and for creating a rope assign
a Rope Tag. If you want to attach a rigid body to a soft body you can
use the Anchor tag.
• Once you've assigned the proper tags to the objects you can set the
physical properties of the objects (like the mass, friction, stiffness, etc.) in
their dynamics tags.
• Every physical simulation needs an initial state. This is the state (position,
rotation, speed, etc.) of all objects, soft body control points or particles at
time T=0. In Cheetah3D every physical simulation starts at time T=0. When
you run the simulation for the first time Cheetah3D automatically saves the
initial state of all objects at that time. Once the animation return back to
T=0 the initial state is recovered. The initial state of a object can be only
manipulated at time T=0. So once you've attached dynamics tags to objects
only transform them at time T=0 otherwise the initial position of the object
gets recovered once the time changes to T=0 later.
Cinema 4D
• By creating dynamics simulations you can use gravity, force, and
physics to have objects move and interact in realistic ways without
having to add any keyframes.
• Getting dynamics set up is simple enough if you only have one or two
objects, but things can get a Little more complex if you hace cloners,
hierarchies of objects, or complex geometry.
• Dynamics (for simulating soft body and rigid body dynamics)
• Hair (simulates hair, fur, grass, etc.)
• MOCCA (character animation and cloth simulation)
• MoGraph (Motion Graphics procedural modelling and animation
toolset)
• NET Render (to render animations over a TCP/IP network in render
farms)
• PyroCluster (simulation of smoke and fire effects)
Simwise
• SimWise Motion lets you start with an assembly designed in your CAD
system or one created using SimWise's basic geometry creation
capabilities. The physical properties of each of the parts in the
assembly will be calculated and if assembly constraints were present
in the CAD mode, they will be automatically converted to SimWise
constraints.
• SimWise FEA is a Finite Element Analysis tool that performs stress,
normal modes, buckling, and heat transfer analysis on mechanical
parts. It is highly automated and handles much of the complexity
associated with FEA while offering powerful features for users who
are steeped in the intricacies of the Finite Element Method.
• SimWise 4D is the combination of SimWise Motion and SimWise FEA
resulting in one seamlessly integrated mechanical simulation product.
SimWise 4D delivers the same independent capabilities as SimWise
Motion and SimWise FEA but the integration produces a coupled
Motion and FEA capability that computes the stresses resulting from
the dynamic loads induced by the motion of an assembly.
