DEFINITION OF CRYO CUFF

 A Cryo Cuff is a cold and a compression therapy that is used to decrease pain and
swelling in patients post therapy. This therapy is called Cryo therapy.
 A cryo cuff is basically a device that is wrapped around the body part that needs
post-operative care be it knee, shoulder, hip, hand, wrist, ankle, elbow or rib.
 The device is filled with cold water. It basically has 4 parts namely a cuff, a cooler,
an insulation disk and a tube.
 It is used after injury, physical therapy sessions or surgery.
FUNCTIONS

 Cryo cuff wraps are available to treat a wide range of conditions.

 A new integrated pneumatic pump within the cooler lid provides automated
compression and cold therapy.
 Cyclical compression mixes chilled water inside the cuff and maintains pressure
necessary to help prevent hemarthrosis and provide cryo therapy.
INDICATIONS

 Trauma
 Post op treatment
 Rehabilitation
 Degenerative joint disease
 Chronic pain
 sprains
CONTRAINDICATIONS

- decrease skin sensitivity
- compromised local circulation
