Objectives
Pneumonia
• as inflammation of the lung parenchyma,
Diagnosis of adolescent has been adapted and modified from the Philippine
Clinical Practice Guidelines on Diagnosis, Empriric Management and
Prevention of Community Acquired Pneumonia in Immunocompetent Adults
with cough and, tachypnea, tachycardia, and fever, with one abnormal chest
findings of diminished breath sounds, ronchi, crackles or wheezes and with
chest xray showing infiltrates.
II. Who will require admission
1. Oseltamivir (30 mg twice a day for ≤15 kg body weight, 45 mg twice a day for
>15-23 kg, 60 mg twice a day for >23-40 kg, and 75 mg twice a day for >40 kg)
remains to be the drug of choice for laboratory confirmed [Recommendation
Grade A], or clinically suspected [Recommendation Grade D] cases of influenza.
