BANKING ON IoT

Question 1
Sports are one area in which the collection and analysis of data have had a huge a impact on how
teams manage personnel and strategize during games. Take a minute to list or brainstorm all of the
different types of data and analysis that could be useful in improving decision for sports teams.

In Football or Soccer, collection and analysis of data has been utilized as a mean to scout
the right player for the system implemented in a team, strategize against next opponent and
many more. Different type of data and analysis in football:
• Possession: amount of time a team controls the ball.
• Shots taken: how many shots a player do in a game.
• Shots on target: how many of that shots are on target by a player.
• Successfully dribble past a player: How many times do a player get past opponent, the
higher number he has indicate the player can take on most player.
• Key pass: final pass leading to a goal or chance.
Question 2
The article looked at the enhanced functionality that could come from a smart refrigerator with
internet connectivity. Can you identify any potential drawbacks or complications that may arise
from this connectivity ?

There are a few potential drawbacks that could may arise from an internet connected
refrigerator. First of all, this kind of technology can become obsolete very quickly, something
like a smartphone these days, which usually only lasts 3-5 years. If the technology become
obsolete in less than 5 years (and the manufacturer doesn’t support the software anymore),
then the lifespan of the refrigerator will also become less than normal, because usually
(without the internet technology), a refrigerator could lasts for more than 10 years. The
second potential drawback is about security issue. When a device is connected to the
internet, it will face risks of being hacked.
Question 3
Take a minute to think about your home or apartment. What types of things would you like to
see connect to the internet? How would this connectivity make your life batter or more
efficient?

We think that trash can that can connect to the Internet can make our life better. The trash
can will give notification if it was full and send the notification to janitor, and then the janitor
will pick up it based on the location that was given. In our opinion, this connectivity is the best
way to reduce the pile up rubbish.
Question 4
What are the potential pitfalls of drastically increasing the number of financial
transactions you or company is responsible for in a given period of time (e.g., buying
groceries or raw aterials in very small quantities)?

Potential pitfalls:
• Need more time and space for analyzing data
• AI built security issues (meanwhile by using IoT, means that all of the process will take
control by AI/machine)
• The highest cost for the capacity storage
