Introduction : -
Friend Finder is an application through which user will be
able to search for other user’s information as well as able to
communicate with them through messages.

This application has two modules :

1. Administrator Module

2. User Module
Administrator Module : -
Admin module provides the following functionalities :

1.Administrator Login :

Application allows admin to login using Username and password which

are by default set ‘Wipro’ and ‘Wipro’.

2. Add City :

Admin can add new city to the database for selected country and state.

3.Add Institute :

Admin can add new institute name to the database for selected country,
state and city

User Module :-
1.User Registration :

Application allows the user to provide the following details in registration

form to get successfully registered

1. First Name 15. Password

2. Last Name 16. Confirm Password
3. Nick Name 17. Security Question
4. Email ID
5. Phone Number
6. Address
7. Country
8. State
9. City
10. Institute Name
11. Branch
12. Starting Year
13. Ending Year

User Login :
Application authenticates the user by validating username and password .
After successful login the application displays the following details

1. First Name
2. Last Name
3. Nick Name
4. Email ID
5. Phone Number
6. Address
7. Country
8. State
9. City
10. Institute Name
11. Branch
12. Starting Year
13. Ending Year

* User is also able to edit these details

Change Password:
The User can also change his password by simply clicking on
settings on the menu tab.

The User then have to enter the old password, new password
and retype the new password.

Forgot Password:
If the user doesn’t remember the password he/she can retrieve
the password by clicking on “Forgot Password” hyperlink on
the login page and answering the security question that he/she
selected at the time of registration
Search Functionality :
Application allows the user to search for friend’s information
using following criteria

 Country Name Starts With

 State Name Starts With

 City Name Starts With

 Institute Name Starts With

* User could also view personal and educational details using the
‘Username’ hyperlink.

Messages :
Application allows user to be able to send messages to other
users.

Application also allows user to receive messages from other

users.

User can also view the received messages

User can also delete the received messages.

Application is developed in .NET which has in built cross platform
capabilities.

User Interface :
User interacts with system through .aspx pages.

Communication Interface :
Communication between front end and back end of the application is
provided by ADO.NET.

Easy to use.

Friend Finder Application is designed for ease of maintenance.
