TYPES OF MOTIVATION

Internal desire of a person to perform a

particular task. People do certain activities
because it gives them pleasure

No need of external incentive or reward

Rewards are intangible and internally satisfied

Appetitive Motivation.
 Motivations that are associated with activities
such as need, interest, curiosity and enjoyment

For example:
If a person likes reading then he would need
no external incentive to make him read the
book as the activity would itself be pleasurable
to him.
EXTRINSIC MOTIVATION
Motivations that stem from the factors external
to the individual and are rather unrelated to the
task.

Rewards in the case are usually tangible and

satisfied by others.
