Objective
The objective of “Students action for social
responsibility (SAforSR)” is to work for
socio-economic development of deprived and rural
populace. We also assist the corporate
for fulfilling their social responsibility.
Background
Looking at the scenario of society, specially in Rural
Development there is requirement of Professional
youths in this sector ,who can bring change in existing
script for rural and deprived. We are working and
facilitating the society and beneficiaries from long
back but our efforts and activities came under the
umbrella of SA for SR in Septemeber,2010. Our
concern focuses on need based demand and CSR
activity.

 For Academic Support-
G.B.Pant Social Science Institute acts as an intact guide for us,
facilitators and academic service provider in the form of Researches,
Analysis and various other ways, for our projects.
 Financial Support-
Dena Bank, Indian Oil, KVIC and some other institutions provides us
financial support at time to time.
 Health Services Support-
World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, Allahabad Medical
Collage, DDWS Allahabad are working and supporting us for our Health
Projects.

Achievements

SA for SR did various health camps for rural and urban slums populace
in which many villages were treated.
SA for SR also did stampede awareness campaign in Kumbh area of
Allahabad, in which pilgrims were made aware, that how to make safe
in stampede like situation,
SA For SR were identified by the Mass Media and Government as
socially responsible youths society.

SA for SR also approached by various Public and Private
Organizations as Indian Oil Corporation, Union Bank of India
and numerous others to perform their CSR activities.

During village stay programme we mobilized the tribal
community of village MOZRA, District- Allahabad and they
started campaign against the autocracy of PDS and for their
village head who were exploiting the villagers from long back,
this campaign later turned in to the NEW PDS officer and
village head of that village.
SA for SR helped one tribal to get their land which was
acquired by money lender of the same village from 40 years
back.

We did Formation of SHGs & JLGs for sustainable
livelihood. Linkages of SHGs & JLGs to Bank and
other various government institutions & schemes
which makes them to income generation activities.
Initiated night classes for educating the members
of SHGs and give them proper guidance.
Ingenuity
PRA is an international recognized tool of Research/ Action
socio-economic development of micro level entities like villages;
here villages not only become researchers themselves for
indentifying developmental problems but also indentifying
solutions and commit for sharing the responsibilities after
genuinely preparing the plans by themselves developmental
activities are initiated and various group of the community.
Infect Indian villages considering their socio-economic
diversities need to be assessed on by use of such techniques and
put in for developmental journey.
We as MBA (RD) students have specified and practically
conducted PRA studies in villages and initiate development
interventions.
Ground Experiences
SA for SR Participated in 3 days immersion work.
During this period we undertook a preliminary survey
of the village Pratappur in Allahabad district,
primarily to explore the functioning of Panchayat
Institutions. The exploration also helped in acquiring
first hand experience of governance, reflected in the
interaction of public with the government
functionaries.

From Participatory Rural Appraisal Method we identified
the need of Mrdapur villages Comes Under Allahabad
District and prepare project for them with IOC help.
SA for SR also organized various health camps in many
villages.
• Participated in 6 Days village visit stay program in Mozra
village of Allahabad district. Here we learnt about
functions and conditions of SHGs and programmes like
MNREGA. We formed couple of SHGs and linked them to
governmentemployment schemes.
