Indias trade with Latin America has gone up toUS $ 23 billion in 2010 from US $ 2.6 billion in 2001. Indian exports to the region increased from 1.5 billion dollars in 2001 to 9 billion in 2010 and imports went up to US $ 14 billion in 2010 from 1.1 billion in 2001. Brazil is the leading trading partner of India, followed by Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Colombia.

Imports : Approximately US$ 849.69 million Major imports : Edible oils (primarily soya), metal scrap and non-electrical machinery.

[consisting of eight countries Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic an associate member] meetings are held from time to time at the level of foreign ministers. 2 India has already set up IT training centers in five SICA countries viz. Panama, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Honduras and will be setting up IT centers in Belize, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. India has offered lines of credit to all the SICA countries.
