Roles and Responsibilities of ICT

Division

1. Internal and external search for the ICT initiative. 2. Coordinating the ICT function in the TNB. 3. Plan and develop ICT infrastructure and users. 4. To implement the ICT project. 5. Managing and operating the ICT assets. 6. Provide ICT services.

Delivery of data in

Telecommunications System Data Any data or information about a station or power station will be sent directly to the control center of the NLDC, using a modem to be given to certain channels. Here, the data taken using the RTU (Remote Terminal Unit)
Speech (Voice)

The system uses the phone where it uses its own line. TNB did not use TELEKOM BERHAD telecommunication system ,so they built 4/19/12 their own telecommunication line

Speech (Voice)

The system uses the phone where it uses its own line. TNB did not use TELEKOM BERHAD telecommunication system ,so they built their own telecommunication line This system is directly connected to NLDC to be organize and maintain Teleprotection also use the online system PLC. This system is important to protect the 4/19/12 line.

TPS (Teleprotection System)

Alarm

Alarm signal means that the damage occurred. This is important for the station which has no officer on duty at the station. The signal is sent is the charger PLC file, files, etc. Protection charger.

Bandwidth

The bandwidth consumed is 4 KHz. All data, speech and so will be in the bandwidth with different frequencies.

POWER LINE COMMUNICATION (PLC)

Private communications networks in TNB

was limited in the early 60 and it was start with the implementation of the transmission power line communication circuit (CLA) in Batang Padang Hydroelectric Project. Step by step, the phone has been used for speech communication. Telemeter system operates through a low-speed data network..

PLCs used in almost all countries in the

world to transfer information via high4/19/12 voltage transmission line and is the most

PCM (Pulse Code Modulation)

PCM system is the technique of converting

voice signals or analog to digital code for transmission to the memultipleks a line before sending. PCM system most used in the TNB. There are 32 PCM channels and each channel has a speed 64 kbit / s data. 30 channels used for data, speech and teleprotection and two more are used for signaling and alignment. So the sum of all the speeds used in the PCM system is 2048 Mbit / s. PCM signal for transmission to 4/19/12 a remote, digital transmission equipment is required.

Digital Communication System

Digital transmission, or digital

communications is the physical transfer of data (a digital bit stream) over a point-topoint or point-to-multipoint communication channel. Examples of such channels are copper wires, optical fibres, wireless communication channels, and storage media. The data is represented as an electromagnetic signal, such as an electrical voltage, radiowave, microwave, or infrared signal.

Optical Fiber Communication

Fiber-optic communication is a method of

transmitting information from one place to another by sending pulses of light through an optical fiber. The light forms an electromagnetic carrier wave that is modulated to carry information. Because of its advantages over electrical transmission, optical fibers have largely replaced copper wire communications in core networks in the developed world.

The process of communicating4/19/12 fiberusing

optics involves the following basic steps:

PLESIOCHRONOUS DIGITAL HIERARCHY

The Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy

(PDH) is a technology used in telecommunications networks to transport large quantities of data over digital transport equipment such as fibre optic and microwave radio systems.

PDH is typically being replaced by

Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) or Synchro equipment in most telecommunications networks.

Synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH)

Synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH)

are standardized multiplexing protocols that transfer multiple digital bit streams over optical fiber using lasers or light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Lower data rates can also be transferred via an electrical interface. The method was developed to replace the Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy (PDH) system for transporting larger amounts of telephone calls and data traffic over the same fiber without synchr

Conclusion

From what we can earn during industrial training at the Tenaga Nasional Berhad ,ICT Division within 3 months starting from 24th April till 15th July 2011 what I can say is that among them are as below: 1. Telecommunications Systems in the newly established units of TNB and the system used is similar to that used by telecommunications companies in the country. 4/19/12
