Introduction
Data is an important asset of any organization. Therefore its very necessary to managed data and information carefully. The researchers of information technology are working for effective management of corporate data, but still there is a possibility of accidental and malicious damage and misuse of data. Database administration activities are used to achieve organizations' goals for the effective management of data.

Introduction
Ineffective data administration leads to poor data quality and can be characterized by the following conditions.
Multiple definitions or representation of the same data entity
Duplication Problem

Missing key value loss


Missing important information

Low data quality queries


High queries response time

Insufficient familiarity with existing data


Reduce the capability to use the data

Introduction
Data Administration:

A high-level function that is responsible for the overall management of data resources in an organization
Database Administration:

A technical function that is responsible for physical database design and for dealing with technical issues such as security enforcement, database performance, and backup and recovery

Data Administration
Data administrator is the caretaker of the organization's data. The administration resolve disputes that may arise when data are centralized and shared among users. Major and significant role of Data Administration is to decide that where data will be stored and managed.

Data policies, procedures, standards
Data policies are statements that make clear the goals of data administration.
Data procedures are written outlines of actions to be taken to perform a certain activity. Data standards are explicit conventions

Database Administration
The database administrator must understand the data models built by data administrator and may able to transforming them into physical database designs.

The DBA implements the standards and procedures established by the data administrator, including enforcing standards, policies, and procedures.
