DST Introductoin
44
The primary DST functions, whether conducted in openhole or cased wells, are to:
Isolate the target zone. Control well flow. Convey fluid to surface. Acquire downhole data.
4/23/12
WELL TESTING is the only technique examining a significant portion of the reservoir under dynamic conditions to determine its production capabilities and reservoir properties.

The 4 gates valves: Swab valve: to run tools in downhole. Master valve: to isolate the surface equipment from the downhole string. It is the first valve at surface to control the well. Kill valve: to inject fluid (mud) to kill the well or acid to improve well production. Flow line: to control the flow. Normally 4/23/12 closed.

Whenever H2S is expected to be in the well effluent, a surge tank must be used instead of a gauge tank. Oil Manifold
26 26
The oil manifold links the separator to the tank, the transfer pump, and the burners. It allows oil leaving the separator to be diverted to the tank or the burners, or sent directly to a production line.
4/23/12
Gas Manifold
27 27
Gas from the separator flows through the gas and is directed to one of two gas flares.
