This Qur’an is not such as can be ْوَمَا كَانَ هَذَا الْقُرْآنُ أَن
produced by other than Allah ِّن دُونِ ال ْ ِيُ ْفتَرَى م
(Ch. 10:37) )37 (يونس
Say:” Don’t you see, if this is from ِعنْد
ِ ْن كَانَ مِن
ْ ُِقلْ أَرََأيْتُمْ إ
Allah ...” (Ch. 46:10) )10 الِّ (الحقاف
Have they not pondered on Quran with ْن وَ َلوَ أَفَل َيتَ َدبّرُونَ الْقُرْآ
Care? Had it been from other than ِّغيْرِ الَ ِع ْند
ِ ْكَانَ مِن
Allah, they would surely found in it ًَلوَجَدُوا فِيهِ اخْتِلفا
much discrepancy (Ch. 4: 82) )82 ً )النساء.َكثِيرا
5. Where is the Origin of Qur’an
Nay , this is a Glorious Qur’an, ٍ( فِي َلوْح21) ٌَبلْ ُهوَ قُرْآنٌ مَجِيد
inscribed in a Tablet Preserved )22-21 مَحْفُوظٍ (البروج
(Ch. 85: 21-22)
This is indeed a Qur’an most ٍ( فِي ِكتَاب77) ٌِإنّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيم
honourable, In a book well ّ( ل يَمَسّهُ إِل78) ٍمَ ْكنُون
guarded, which none shall touch )79-77 طهّرُونَ (الواقعة َ ُالْم
but those who are clean
(Ch. 56: 77-79)
In Book held in honour, Exalted ٍ( مَرْفُوعَة13) ٍفِي صُحُفٍ مُكَرّمَة
kept pure and holy, (written) by ٍ( بِأَيْدِي سَفَ َرة14) ٍطهّرَة َ ُم
hands of scribes Honourable, ٍ( كِرَا ٍم بَرَرَة15)
pious and just (Ch. 80: 13-16) ) )16-13 عبس
6. When the Qur’an was sent down
With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth ُنَ َز َل بِهِ الرّوحُ الَمِين
(Ch. 26: 193) ) )193 الشعراء
Say: “The holy spirit has brought the revelation َربّك
َ ُْق ْل نَ ّزلَهُ رُوحُ الْقُدُسِ مِن
from your lord in truth (Ch. 16: 102) ) 102بِالْحَقّ (نحل
Say: “Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel, for he ُن كَانَ عَ ُدوّا لِجِبْرِيلَ َف ِإنّه ْ َُقلْ م
brings down the revelation to your heart by ِّك ِبإِذْنِ ال
َ ِعلَى قَ ْلب
َ ُنَ ّزلَه
Allah’s will (Ch. 2: 97)
)97 (البقرة
So according to Qur’an, Archangel Gabriel was the one who brought the
revelation to our prophet. His qualities of trust and high position are
highlighted to prove that he did not hide any thing and completed his trust
fully.
7A. Who was the Receiver of Qur’an? – Prophet
Mohammad
Say: “If the whole of mankind and Jinn ّجنِ ْس وَال ُ ت الِن ْ َن اجْتَمَع ْ ُقلْ لَ ِئ
were to gather together to produce عَلَى َأنْ يَأْتُوا بِ ِم ْثلِ هَذَا
ْن بِ ِمثْلِهِ وَ َلو
َ ن ل يَ ْأتُو ِ الْقُرْآ
the like of this Qur’an, they could ًظهِيرا َ ٍضهُمْ ِلبَعْض ُ ْكَانَ بَع
not produce the like thereof, even if )88 (بني إسرائيل
they backed up each other
(Ch. 17: 88).
If you are in doubt regarding what we َوِإنْ كُنتُمْ فِي َريْبٍ مِمّا نَزّ ْلنَا عَلَى
have sent down to our servant, Then عبْدِنَا فَ ْأتُوا بِسُورَةٍ ِمنْ ِمثْلِ ِه َ
)23 (البقرة
produce a Sura like it (2:23)
This Qur’anic challenge is unanswered during past 1400 years.
11. Warning to those who will still insist that
Qur’an is Man’s World
(He said) This is nothing but the word ِإِنْ هَذَا إِلّ َق ْولُ ا ْلبَشَر
of a mortal. Soon will cast him into َصلِيهِ سَقَر ْ سُأ
َ
Hell-Fire (Ch. 74: 25-26) ))26-25 المدثر
(Then Bring a Sura like it…) But if you ن لَمْ تَفْ َعلُوا َولَنْ تَفْ َعلُوا
ْ َِفإ
cannot, and of a surety you cannot, فَاتّقُوا النّارَ اّلتِي وَقُودُهَا
the fear the fire, whose fuel is men ْس وَالْحِجَارَةُ أُعِدّت ُ النّا
and stones (Ch. 2: 24) )24 ِللْكَافِرِينَ (البقرة

(Here is) a Book which We have sent ٌِكتَابٌ أَن َز ْلنَاهُ ِإ َليْكَ ُمبَارَك
down to you, full of blessings, that )29 ِليَدّبّرُوا آيَاتِهِ (ص
they may mediate on its signs
(Ch. 38: 29)
12C. To live by it
If any fail to judge by (the light of) و من لَ ْم يَحْكُ ْم بِمَا أَنزَلَ الُّ فَُأوَْل ِئ َك
what Allah has revealed, they are ْ هُم...َهُمْ الْكَافِرُون
َ الظّالِمُون....
(no better than) unbelievers….
47-44 )هُمْ الْفَاسِقُونَ (المائدة

O Apostle! Proclaim the (message) َيَا َأ ّيهَا الرّسُو ُل َبلّغْ مَا أُن ِزل
which has been sent to you from َِإ َليْكَ مِنْ َربّك
your Lord ))67 المايده
(Ch. 5: 67)
A. Guidance to Humanity
Guidance to (all) Mankind (Ch. 3: 185) )4 (آل عمران, هُدًى لِلنّاس
A Qur’an, which We have divided into parts, in ِوَقُرْآناً فَرَ ْقنَاهُ ِلتَقْرَأَ ُه عَلَى النّاس
order that you might recite it to men at ًث َونَزّ ْلنَا ُه تَنزِيل
ٍ ْعَلَى مُك
intervals: We have revealed it by stages ) )106 بني إسرائيل
(17: 106)
Qur’an itself gives the reasons why it was revealed in stages. In order for
ease of remembrance and to explain and clarify its meaning and show
applications to a particular situation.
15. Basic and Allegorical verses in Qur’an:
According to Qur’an both types are available in its text.
…In it are verses Basic or َُهوَ اّلذِي َأنْ َزلَ عَ َليْكَ الْ ِكتَاب
Fundamental, they are the ّحكَمَاتٌ هُنّ ُأم ْ ُِمنْ ُه آيَاتٌ م
foundation of the book. Others are ٌا ْل ِكتَابِ وَأُخَرُ ُمتَشَا ِبهَات
allegorical. But those in whose heart ْفَأَمّا اّلذِينَ فِي قُلُو ِبهِم
is perversity follow the part which is ََزيْغٌ فَ َي ّت ِبعُونَ مَا تَشَابَه
Allegorical, seeking for discord and َمِنْهُ ابْتِغَاءَ الْ ِفتْنَ ِة وَابْتِغَاء
hidden meanings (Ch. 3: 7) )7 َت ْأوِيلِهِ (آل عمران
Say: “Come, I will tell what Allah has ُْق ْل َتعَا َلوْا أَ ْتلُ مَا حَ ّرمَ رَبّ ُكم
(really) prohibited. Join not any ًشيْئاَ ِع َل ْي ُكمْ أَلّ تُشْرِكُوا بِه َ
partner with Him, Be good to your َوبِا ْلوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَان ًا وَل
parents, and Kill not your children on ٍتَقْتُلُوا َأوْلدَ ُكمْ مِنْ إِمْلق
plea of want (Ch. 6: 151) )151 (النعام
Allah commands justice, the doing of ن ِ لّ َيأْمُ ُر بِا ْلعَ ْد ِل وَالِحْسَا َ إِنّ ا
good and liberality to kith and kin وَإِيتَاءِ ذِي الْقُ ْربَى َو َي ْنهَى
and He forbids all shameful deeds, ِعَنْ الْفَحْشَا ِء وَالْمُنكَر
and injustice and rebellion. He ْظ ُكمْ َلعَّل ُكم
ُ ِي َيع
ِ ْوَا ْل َبغ
instructs you that you may receive )90 تَ َذكّرُونَ (النحل
admonition (Ch. 16: 90)
Let there be no compulsion in religion, َ ّل إِكْرَاهَ فِي الدّينِ قَ ْد َتبَي
ن
guidance has been distinguished from ّن الغَي ْ ِالرّشْدُ م
the falsehood (Ch. 2: 256) ))256 البقرة

He is one and unique
He is the sole Creator of every thing in this
universe.

He is free from all defects
Only He needs to be worshipped, no one

17. RISALAT i.e. The office of Prophet hood
Topics covered under this head are
Prophets are specially chosen men amongst their
people
Every nation had their prophets
Prophets get Direct revelation from Allah
They act as role models for their people
Must be respected and obeyed
Will be called as witness on the Last Day
Prophet Mohammad is the last and final prophet
in the long chain
18. AAKHIRAT i.e. The Day of Judgment
Such are some of the stories تِ ْلكَ ِمنْ أَنْبَاءِ الْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهَا إِلَ ْيكَ مَا
of the unseen, which We have ِكُنتَ تَعْلَ ُمهَا أَنْتَ وَل قَوْ ُمكَ ِمنْ قَ ْبل
revealed to you (11:49)
49 - هَذَا
20. AHKAMS i.e. Laws and Commandments
Say: Come I tell you what Allah has ْقُلْ تَعَا َلوْا أَ ْتلُ مَا حَرّمَ رَبّكُ ْم عَلَيْكُم
truly forbidden, that you associate
no partners.. (6:151) َِألّ ُتشْرِكُوا ِبهِ شَيْئاً وَبِا ْلوَالِدَ ْين
ً151 - إِحْسَانا
Allah direct you regarding your ُيُوصِيكُمْ الُّ فِي َأوْلدِكُمْ لِلذّكَرِ مِ ْثل
children, to the male a portion
equal to two females 11 - ِحَظّ الُنثَيَيْن
O You who believe, most certainly خمْ ُر
َ ْيَا أَ ّيهَا الّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِ ّنمَا ال
intoxicants, gambling .. are Satan’s
Handiworks (6:80) ٌوَالْمَيْسِرُ وَالَنصَابُ وَالَزْلمُ رِجْس
80- ِن عَ َملِ الشّيْطَان ْ ِم
Prohibited to you are dead meat, ُت عَلَيْكُمْ الْمَيْ َتةُ وَالدّمُ وَلَحْم
ْ َحُرّم
blood, swine’s flesh (6:3)
3 - ِالْخِنزِيرِ وَمَا ُأ ِهلّ لِغَيْرِ الِّ بِه
21 . Qur’an and previous scriptures:
Qur’an confirms previous scriptures and at the same
time acts as a guard over them.
To You, We sent a scripture in truth ّب بِالْحَقَ وَأَن َز ْلنَا ِإ َليْكَ ا ْل ِكتَا
confirming the scripture that came ْن يَ َديْهِ مِنَ ُْمصَدّقاً لِمَا بَي
before it and guarding it in safety ِا ْل ِكتَابِ وَ ُم َهيْمِناً عَ َليْه
(Ch. 5: 48) 48 (المائدة
Verily this Qur’an does explain to the علَىَ ّن يَقُص َ إِنّ َهذَا الْقُرْآ
children of Israel most of the َبنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ َأ ْكثَرَ اّلذِي
matters in which they disagree َختَلِفُونْ َُهمْ فِيهِ ي
(Ch. 27: 76) ) )76 النمل
If we use Qur’an as the Criterion of judging old scriptures,
we may clarify many mistakes and contradictions available
in existing Scriptures manuscripts.
21 A. Examples
According to Bible According to Qur’an
God created heavens and earth is six days and on Allah created heavens and earth is six days (stages),
seventh day He rested and was refreshed. but the work did not tire Him. (Qur’an ‘s
(Genesis) version is more suited to the majesty of Creator)
Adam ate from the forbidden tree on the advice of Eve, Qur’an never blames Eve as the first offender. In
so woman was responsible for the fall of man Qur’an, Adam & Eve are mentioned together,
(Genesis) that they ate from the forbidden tree, Qur’an
also tells that both repented and Allah forgave
them (No Original Sin according to Qur’an))
Aaron made the golden calf and worshipped it. As per Qur’an, It was Samiri not Aaron who made
(Exodus) the golden calf.
Jesus is the begotten son of God. (John ) Qur’an while accepting the miraculous birth of Jesus
(Pace be on him), without male intervention,
denies any divinity to Jesus or to any of Allah’s
creature..
Jesus died on Cross and carried away the sins of those Qur’an says that Jesus was not killed, not crucified.
who shall believe in his Crucifixion. Allah saved him and took him to heavens.
Further no one will take the blame of others.
God has three persons, Father Son and Holy Ghost and Qur’an rejects with force any persons in Godhood
they form a Triune God (Holy Trinity) and insists that Allah is absolute unity. There
are no partners or equals with Him.
22. Penalty for Ignoring Qur’anic Teachings:
If anyone withdraws himself from remembrance ِ عنْ ذِكْرِ الرّحْ َم
ن َ ش ُ ْوَ َمنْ يَع
of Most Gracious, We will appoint for him an ٌنُ َقيّضْ لَهُ شَيْطَاناً َف ُهوَ لَهُ قَرِين
evil one, to be intimate companion to him )36 (زخرف
(Ch. 43: 36)
But whosoever turns away from my message, ُعنْ ذِكْرِي فَِإنّ لَه َ ض َ َوَ َمنْ َأعْر
verily for him is a life narrowed down and We َمَعِيشَةً ضَنك ًا َونَحْشُرُ ُه َيوْم
shall raise him up blind on the day of ( قَالَ رَبّ لِ َم124) الْ ِقيَامَةِ َأعْمَى
judgement. ًت بَصِيرا ُ حَشَرْتَنِي َأعْمَى وَقَدْ كُن
He will say “O My Lord! Why have you raised ك َأ َت ْتكَ آيَا ُتنَا
َ ( قَالَ كَذَ ِل125)
me up blind, while I had sight before” َفنَسِي َتهَا وَكَذَ ِلكَ ا ْل َيوْ َم تُنسَى (طه
(Allah) will say: : “Thus did you, when our signs )126-124
came to you disregarded them, so will you be
disregarded on this day (Ch. 20: 124-126)
23. How to spread the message of Qur’an?
Invite (all) to the Way of Your Lord حكْمَ ِةِ ْك بِال َ ّسبِيلِ َرب َ ادْعُ ِإلَى
with wisdom and beautiful preaching: ِسنَة َ َوَالْ َموْعِظَةِ الْح
and argue with them in ways that are ن ُ َوَجَا ِد ْلهُ ْم بِاّلتِي هِيَ أَحْس
best (Ch. 16: 125) )125 (النحل
And dispute not with the People of the ّوَل تُجَادِلُوا أَ ْهلَ ا ْل ِكتَابِ ِإل
Book except with better means, unless it َبِاّلتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ إِلّ الّذِين
be those who cause injury ْظلَمُوا ِم ْن ُهم
َ
(Ch. 29: 46) ))46 العنكبوت
Say: O people of the Book! Come to ب َتعَا َلوْا ِ ُقلْ يَا أَ ْهلَ الْكِتَا
common terms as between us and you: سوَا ٍء بَ ْي َننَاَ ٍإِلَى كَلِمَة
That we worship none but Allah; That لّ وَل َ َو َب ْي َن ُكمْ أَ ّل نَعْبُدَ إِلّ ا
we associate no partners with Him… َخذ
ِ ّشيْئ ًا وَل َيت َ ِك بِه َ ِنُشْر
(Ch. 3: 64) ْضنَا بَعْضاً أَ ْربَاباً مِن ُ َب ْع
)64 دُونِ الِّ (آل عمران
24. How to spread the message of Qur’an?

Revile not those whom they call upon َن َيدْعُونَ سبّوا اّلذِي ُ َوَل ت
besides Allah, lest they out of spite َّسبّوا ال
ُ َن دُونِ الِّ َفي ْ ِم
revile Allah in their ignorance ع ْلمٍ (النعام
ِ ِعَدْوًا ِب َغيْر
(Ch. 6: 108) )108
Qur’an teaches us that we should take care of following when
preaching its message to others:
- We should preach with wisdom and with kind words.
- We should try to first mention the commonalties in the faiths.
The differences could be discussed afterwards.
- We should not revile the deities and religious persons of other
faiths. It only causes more harm and little profit.
- We should be ready to face criticism and harsh words from
our “Friends”.
25- Supplications mentioned in Qur’an:
Qur’an gives many beautiful supplications. Sometimes these are taught
from Allah Himself. Sometimes supplications from Prophets and Righteous
people of past generations are recorded. All these supplications are
acceptable to Allah and many times refer to such subtle issues which our
minds could not imagine with ease. A few examples are given below:
Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate after You َر ّبنَا ل تُ ِزغْ قُلُو َبنَا بَعْ َد إِذْ هَ َد ْي َتنَا
have guided us, but grant us mercy from Your ًب َلنَا مِنْ لَ ُدنْكَ رَحْمَة
ْ َوَه
own presence, for you are granter of bounties ُِإنّكَ أَنْتَ ا ْلوَهّاب
without measure (Ch. 3: 8)
))8 آل عمران
Our Lord! Give us good in this world and good in ًسنَةَ ََر ّبنَا آتِنَا فِي ال ّدنْيَا ح
the hereafter and defend us from the torment سنَ ًة وَ ِقنَا
َ َوَفِي الخِ َرةِ ح
of the Fire. (Ch. 2: 201)
)201ب النّارِ (البقرة َ عذَا َ
25- Supplications mentioned in Qur’an (Contd.)
Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who َخوَا ِننَا الّذِين
ْ َِر ّبنَا اغْفِرْ َلنَا َول
came before us into faith, and leave not into ْسَبَقُونَا بِالِيمَانِ وَل تَجْعَل
our hearts Rancour (or sense of injury) غلّ لِلّذِينَ آ َمنُواِ فِي قُلُوبِنَا
against those who have believed. ٌَر ّبنَا إِ ّنكَ رَءُوفٌ رَحِيم
Our Lord! You are indeed full of Kindness and )10 (الحشر
Most Merciful. (Ch. 59: 10)
Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget or fall َر ّبنَا ل ُتؤَاخِ ْذنَا ِإنْ نَسِينَا أَ ْو
into error. أَخْطَ ْأنَا رَبّنَا وَل تَحْمِ ْل عَ َل ْينَا
Our Lord! Place not on us a burden like that َإِصْراً كَمَا حَمَ ْلتَ ُه عَلَى الّذِين
which you placed on those before us ِمنْ َقبِْلنَا َر ّبنَا وَل تُحَمّ ْلنَا مَا
Our Lord! Place not on us a burden greater than عنّا َ ُل طَاقَةَ َلنَا بِهِ وَاعْف
we have strength to bear َوَاغْفِرْ َلنَا وَارْحَ ْمنَا َأنْت
And grant us forgiveness, have mercy on us, You َِموْلنَا فَانصُ ْرنَا عَلَى الْقَوْم
are our protector, Help us against those who َالْكَافِرِين
stand against faith (Ch. 2: 286) ((286 البقرة
