    Current harmonics distorts voltage wave form, and causes voltage harmonics.

    Why to worry?

    K factor is a weight of the Harmonic. Ranges from 1 to 50. The higher the K factor the higher the heating. K factor used to adjust the load rating. Poor K factor means bigger size.

    K Transformer are constructed to operate at full load. Additional thermal capacity. Reduce of eddy current. Additional over current protection.

    Harmonics in power system is like a common cold which cant be prevented just its symptoms can be understood and prevent some unwanted situation due to this.

    Research on problems and solution is still in its infancy:solution veiwed today may be a problem for tommrow. Just take the help pf expert while installing your house wiring. Use true RMS ammeter it will give you the actual reading of current.
