Tourism is now the largest industry in the World, with more than 700 million people traveling globally on holiday each year and increasing by %3 annually.

According to latest annual research, Travel & Tourism employed over 225 million people around the World and generated 9.6 % of Global GDP in 2008. 2008.

 Travel & Tourism activity was hit hard by the global crisis, with Travel & Tourism Economy GDP contracting by 4.8% in 2009. Even so, the sector worldwide still provided over 235 million jobs last year.

 The contribution of Travel & Tourism to GDP is expected to rise from 9.2% (US$5,751 bn) in 2010 to 9.6% (US$11,151 bn) by 2020.

 The contribution of the Travel & Tourism Economy to total employment is expected to rise 303,019,000 jobs, or 1 in every 10.9 jobs by 2020.
