Butterfly Valve
Butterfly valves are quick opening valves that consist of a metal circular disc or vane with
its pivot axes at right angles to the direction of flow in the pipe, which when rotated on a
shaft, seals against seats in the valve body.
They are normally used as throttling valves to control flow.
Butterfly valves control the flow of gas or liquid by means of a disk, which turns on a
diametrical axis inside a pipe or by two semicircular plates hinged on a common spindle,
which permits flow in only one direction.
These valves offer a rotary stem movement of 90 degrees or less, in a compact design.
Butterfly valves are available in several body styles and seal type and antistatic
construction

Test Inspection
The Manufacturers facility is certified to ISO 9001 .
FEPA Butterfly Valves are guaranteed to seal perfectly (no visible leakage) in both flow
direction. The test conforms to API 598
- Body test : 1.5 times the maximum operated pressure(MOP) with water. The test is
performed on the assembled valve with the disc in half open position.
-Seat and shaft seal test : 1.1 times the maximum working pressure. The shaft seal test and
inspection is conducted simultaneously with seat test.
-X-ray verification for weld construction
-VDI 2440 for emission control
Product Identification
Every FEPA valve has a special identification tag attached to the valve
body. Information includes:
Brand , valve figure number, the size and pressure class, standard number ,CE, the materials
of construction, and the operating pressures and temperatures.
The metal tag also includes a serial number and year of manufacture;
The serial number is recorded by the FEPA Quality Control Department along with the test
results and material certification data, for individual traceability and certification of every
valve produced. The Manufacturer is certified to the European Pressure Equipment Directive
(PED) and the CE mark shall be a ffixed to each valve label.
