To obtain knowledge and understanding related to the chosen majors.

Disediakan oleh; Jawatankuasa Projek Sarjana Muda (PSM), Fakulti Teknologi Maklumat dan Multimedia (FTMM), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM).

evaluate appropriate techniques for solving research problem. (Critical Thinking and Problem Solving) construct ICT application based on student majoring. (Practical Skill) defend research result and findings verbally. (Communication Skills) integrate entrepreneurship value in bachelor degree project based on UTHM bachelor degree project guidelines. (Entrepreneurship)

PSM supervision

PSM subject registration(BIT3353). Supervise by knowledgeable academic staf in their interest. All PSM activities must be monitor by PSM panel in faculty. Supervising is on-going process.

PSM Students Responsibility

Register Research Methodology subject (BIT3343) and PSM (BIT3353). Suggest PSM title. Ensuring supervisor consultation at least 7 times in PSM 1 semester, and 12 times in PSM 2 semester. Completing log book. Take a step further to solve your problem first before consult with your supervisor. Prepare and submit seminar paper work, and all the document needed to supervisor, assessor and PSM panel.

Write PSM report guided by Buku Panduan Menulis Tesis, UTHM(2009). Get supervisor certified for your log book, PSM 1 report and Final draf PSM report. Prepare and submit 2 PSM hard-binding report and 2 copy of CD to PSM panel if you pass PSM with the respective form. Present your project and product in progress report and seminar requested.

3 jam credit Passed Research Methodology subject (BIT 3343) also known as PSM 1 20% from PSM 1 will bring into the PSM 2

Implementation Method
Log Book Must contain summarization task along the PSM semester. Must bring the book each time your consultation hour with supervisor. Supervisor must check and certified you log book in each meeting session. PSM Seminar Each student must present the progress work and product in each seminar requested. Less then 12 meeting in PSM 2 semester may blocked you from presents in Seminar. Non-present student in Seminar 2 assumes FAIL PSM subject automatically. You encourage to use English during presentation.

Term and Condition

Degree final year PSM special condition : student with minimum Research Methodology credit faculty standard. is a must before take PSM subject. In FTMM, Research Student not allow to Methodology and PSM drop PSM unless faculty dioffered in 2 following allow (special cases semester in final year only). studies. Extended student (one Combination result in semester or more) is PSM 1and PSM 2 will allowed to extend their be presented in PSM PSM and register after subject as PSM result. he/she register for the
following semester.

Request for Title(done in PSM 1)

Student must suggest one or more title to supervisor. Then the title which both agree will be bring to PSM panel to access. Using Borang permohonan tajuk which student and supervisor signed must submit to PSM panel not later than 22 June 2010. After all the supervisor had meeting the title, a list of approved title with the owner will be present back to student. Student with rejected title may select balance title in the list.

PSM Report

PSM Report should contains Introduction, Literature Review, Analysis and Findings, Conclusion and Suggestion. Final Report will be summarize during Seminar presentation using IEEE format. (refer to IEEE format) Final Report full format should submit to your own Supervisor Laporan for final evaluation. Final PSM Report only be biding when result of PSM view and submission to counter with the approval of supervisor (refer to Appendix K), without Appendix K, your result will hold from release. Every report writing must be write in Bahasa Melayu. To write report in English, you need to have a permission from faculty (apply to Academic Deputy Dean as an approval).

Must bind with ring binder with pink paper for the front page Front page format (font Times / size 18) as in example. Report writing :

Font Times size 12 1.5 lines spacing

Contribute 10% of total marks.

Claim

RM 500 for each student Only hardware and tool can be claim. All the hardware and tool bought must return to faculty after PSM project settle to receive claim.

Progress Presentation

A new evaluation is introduced. 2 progress presentation you need to attend. 1st progress presentation on Week 4 and 6. 2nd progress presentation is on Week 8 and 10. Its contribute 5% each from total assessment. The progress presentation evaluate by your own supervisor. Please be formal.

Preparation and submission of final draft report

Writing - Buku Panduan Menulis Tesis UTHM(2009). Cover page transparent. Submit to FTMM counter in 3 copies (accessor panel) before Seminar PSM. A copy must submit to your own supervisor yourself.

Seminar PSM

The presentation is on Week 14. Non present student means FAIL. Contribute 20% of total PSM result. Given by evaluator panel.

Final PSM Report

Do correction before make a hard cover binding. Hard cover binding using hard cover blue 550. Submit 1 hard cover report to FTMM counter, and 1 copy to your supervisor. 1 CD copy (poster, report pdf documentation and system) with Appendix K. Student with A need to submit extra 1 hard cover report to counter. Fail to submit result will not given to you.
