Introduction
Abuse comes in many forms and it can happen to anyone. It causes great harm physically and mentally. It is a crime but nobody dares to take action to stop it.
Based on Straus and Gelles (1986), men were assaulted more than women do. Note : This proved that that the ideas of men being superior and abusing women were all wrong. The National Family Violence Council claimed that women had higher mean and median rates for severe violence.
Joy Stevens (1997) stated that 30% of women admit that they used physical aggression against their male partners. Chris Norris wrote in Marie Claire Magazine that he was punched by his female friends but he remained silence because he did not want it to become an issue. An article in Sunshine Red (2007) claimed that when men began share their problems, women would turn the table causing the blame to be on men because everyone will think that it is impossible for women to abuse men.
Solutions
Men should record the event of the occurrence as an evidence for being abused. There is a hotline, National Domestic Violence Hotline which is specially made to help those who are abused. Besides, we have to ask, express concern, offer help and give him good advices if we suspect that he is being abused. According to Ann Scott, Baberghs Community Safety Officer with White Ribbon Week (actually the campaign runs over two weeks from November 25 to December 15 2009), the Forum wanted to address the taboo subject of domestic violence against men. The purpose is to raise general awareness about domestic abuse - the shocking statistics, how to report it and who to turn to for help.

Alcohol Abuse
Over consumption of alcohol is the main cause of every problem. Domestic violence is triggered when the people are drunk and they are prone to resort to violence to resolve their problems. Women who abuse men are frequently alcoholics.
Psychological Disorders
The personality disorder is also one of the primary causes of the domestic violence. Women who are characteristically abusive and violent tend to be so especially when dealing with their partners and or male friends. At least 50% of all domestic abuse and violence against men is closely connected with women who suffer from the personality disorder.
The use violence against men usually are connected to unrealistic expectations and demands towards their partners and or male friends. Women will resort to violence due to the feelings of depression, anxiety, frustration and irritability. They blame men for spoiling their mood and when men are unable to make them feel better, these women will become frustrated and they will start to use violence to resolve
