INTRODUCTION
Zombie is a person neither dead nor alive the undead. In folklore zombies are walking corpses. They have died, but had been awakened through supernatural means [Hamilton, 2007]. Zombies is one of the most popular topics used in film and game industry nowadays. Zombies are dead, smelly creatures that worship a human flesh, and have an instinct to kill. It seems there is nothing fascinating and attractive about zombies, however movies such as 28 days Later (2003) directed by Danny Boyle, or the American version of the movie 28 weeks later (2007), were absolute success in the film industry. The Walking Dead is in the top 10 most watchable tv series in the world at the moment, the games such as Resident Evil or Paranoia are played by huge number of people. So what is the reason people are so attracted to these disgusting creatures and what makes these movies or games so popular? This investigation will analyse this question. We will use several supporting sources, which will help to understand and answer the investigation question. The sources are movies and games, mentioned before, as well books as Zombies. World of Horror by Sue L. Hamilton, Diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders by American psychiatric association, Zombies: Monster Chronicles by Stephen Krensky and Zombies by Marie Schuh.
