INTRODUCTION
Our Project Automatic Room Light Controller with vacancy shower using Microcontroller is a reliable circuit that takes over the task of controlling the room lights as well as showing number of vacancy in the room very accurately . using EMBIDDED SYSTEM

WHAT IS EMBIDDED SYSTEM

One of the first recognizably modern embedded systems was the APOLLO GUIDANCE COMPUTER ,developed by Charles stark draper at the MIT Instrumentation Laboratory. An Embedded System is a combination of hardware and software whose purpose is to control a device, a process or a larger system.

CHARACTERSTICS
Available system memory Available processor speed Two major areas of differences are cost and power consumption. Programs on an embedded system often run with real-time constraints with limited hardware resources: often there is no disk drive, operating system, keyboard or screen.

CONTENTS
I.R sensors Relay D.C.MOTOR L.C.D MICRO CONTROLLER

IT IS A SENSAR WHICH IS USED FOR DETECTION IT IS CONSISTS OF TWO LEDS ITS WAVELENGTH RANGE IS LESS THAN 950nm WHICH IS LESS THAN THE VISIBLE SPECTRAM

SOURS LED WILL EMMITS THE IR LIGHT another led will resive the reflected signal from the object

IN OUR CIRCUIT
at entrance and exit doors

I.R.SENSARS

MICRO CONTROLLER

relay is an electrically operated switch it is used to control low power signals Relays were used extensively in telephone exchanges and early computers to perform logical operations.
A

AN RELAY CONSISTS OF
ARMATURE(COM) YOKE SPRING(NC) COIL CONTACTS(NO)

WORKING
When current flows through the coil, a magnetic field are created around the coil This causes the armature to be attracted to the coil. The armatures contact acts like a switch and closes or opens the circuit.

IN OUR CIRCUIT

IT IS CONNECTED IN BETWEEN M.C & MOTOR IT ACTS LIKE SWITCH IN BETWEEN THEM

Unit

D.C.MOTOR
A DC motor is an ELECTRICMOTOR that runs on DIRECTCURRENT (DC) electricity THIS MOTORS CAN ALSO OPERATE BY BATTERIES Today DC motors are still found in applications as small as toys and disk drives

WORKING

It is based on the principle that when a current-carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field, it experiences a mechanical force whose direction is given by Flemings left-hand rule and whose magnitude is given by Force, F = B I l Newton Where B is the magnetic field in Weber/m2 I is the current in amperes and l is the length of the coil in meter.

IN OUR CIRCUIT

THIS IS USED TO SHOW THE OUT PUT

L.C.D (LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY)

This is display unit these are used on portable devices where less information content needs to be displayed, lowest power consumption and low cost

L.C.D CONSITS OF

LCD DISPLAY
Gnd vcc preset rs rw en d0 d1 d2 d3 d4 d5 d6 d7 vcc gnd

WORKING
It also uses the command codes the data to be display on the lcd is converted into ASCII format Contrast on display depends on the power supply voltage and whether messages are displayed in one or two lines.

IN OUR CIRCUIT

It is used display how many persons entering into hall & how many persons going out of hall

MICRO CONTROLLER
M.c is invented in the year 1980 A microcontroller is a functional computer system-on-a-chip. It contains a processor, memory, and programmable input/output peripherals Being packed in a tiny integrated circuit (IC) whose size and weight is usually negligible CPU RAM ROM

A single chip
I/O Port
Serial Timer COM Port Microcontroller

AT89S52 MICROCONTROLLER
in our project we are using AT89S52 This microcontroller belongs to 8051 family. This microcontroller consists of 40 pins it is a very powerful device, which is capable of executing a series of preprogrammed tasks and interacting with other hardware devices.

IN OUR PROJECT
this is is one of the important part of the project it will collect signals from I.R.snsers and gives instructions to other components

PROJECT DISCRIPTION
INPUT SIGNAL
GIVE 230V A.C TO POWER SUPPLY BOARD

WHY POWER SUPPLY BOARD

GENERALLY WE GET 230 V a.c TO HOMES IF WE GIVE 230 V A.C TO OUR CIRCUIT IT WILL DAMAGE TO AVOID THIS DAMAGE WE POWER SUPPLY BOARD THIS WILL CONVERT A.C INTO REQUIRED AMOUNT OF D.C AND GIVES TO THE CIRCUIT

POWER SUPPLY BOARD CONSISTS

STEP DOWN TRANSFORMER RECTIFIER FILTER VOLTAGE REGULATOR REGULATED DC VOLTAGE

AT INITIAL CONDITION
Relay will be in off condition All the motors & bulbs are also in off condition LCD will be in on and displays I.R.sensars will be on
