While searching for answers, someone came along and shared the Gospel with me.

They told me only Jesus can fill the emptiness in my life.

We were created to enjoy a personal relationship with God. And only He can fill that emptiness.

Here is the problem.

Man has a natural desire to fill that emptiness with selfish ideas and ignore Gods plan.

Look out for number one! Do your own thing! If it feels good, do it! I dont care what God says about it! Its my life and Ill do what I please!

This independent attitude to fill the emptiness is what the Bible calls sin. All of us, like sheep, have gone astray, and each of us has turned to his own way. (Isaiah 53:6) If we say that we never sin, we are only fooling ourselves, and refuse to accept the truth. (1 John 1:8)

Jesus Christ is the ANSWER!

Who is Jesus?
Knowing that men have no way of rescuing themselves. God in all of his wisdom came up with a plan that only perfect love can execute it. God himself came to earth as a human being to take away our sins, so that He could filled our emptiness.

God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering

Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NLT)

You must believe in Jesus by obeying His words. You must recognize the only way to fill our emptiness is believe in Jesus Christ and obey everything He tell us to do.

We need to empty all thoughts and recognize that only Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life. The Bible calls this repentance, which means to change our mind and action.

Repent
tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Luke 13:3 (NKJV)
3 (NKJV) I

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out,
19 (NKJV)

so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, Acts 3:19 (NKJV)

When I repent, I am applying the death of Christ to my life, making it effective in me!

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. (Galatians 5:24) Our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. (Romans 6:6-7, NLT) We know that the persons we used to be were nailed to the cross with Jesus. This was done, so that our sinful bodies would no longer be the slaves of sin. We know that sin doesnt have power over dead people. (Romans 6:6-7, CEV)

HOW DO WE REPENT?

First of all we need to recognize that we have sin. We need to ask God to forgive us by confessing our sins to Him with a simple prayer. For example: Jesus I acknowledge my independent way of doing things and I recognize, I need your forgiveness. I asked you to forgive me. And I want to start a new by believing you and obeying you. Thank you for your mercy towards me and allowing me to see that you are the only one that can come fill my heart.

SIN HAS A WAY TO CORRUPT US, OR FOR THIS ILLUSTRATION WE USE THE WORD CONTAMINATED US. AND THOUGH WE ARE FORGIVEN WE NEED TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP TO BE WASH THE BIBLE CALLS THIS WATER BAPTISM.

Water Baptism
38 (NKJV) Then

Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38 (NKJV)

Remission means pardon or forgiveness. And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. (Acts 22:16)

Water Baptism
When I baptize, I am applying the burial of Christ to my life, making it effective in me! For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. (Romans 6:4)

you know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16 (NCV)

What happened to the people who received the Holy Ghost?

What happened to the people who received the Holy Ghost?

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. No one taught them these tongues, it was just the Spirit that moved on them that gave them the utterance or the ability to speak. They were speaking in a language theyve never spoken or had ever been taught.

What happened to the people who received the Holy Ghost?

Acts 10:44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. 45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. (HOW DID THEY KNOW?)46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.

What happened to the people who received the Holy Ghost?

Acts 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.

What happened to the people who received the Holy Ghost?

John 3:5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. John 3:8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit." You will hear a sound. Just like the previous example.

Why would God choose this as a sign?

James 3:8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

How to receive the Holy Ghost

Repent: Remove all barriers. Sin, unforgiveness,
pride, or any unclean thing that may block you from receiving and make a decision to obey Him.

Reach Out: by thanking, praising & worshipping.

Dont analyze with your mind, but allow yourself to receive this gift.

Release: By faith stop praying in English (or

native language) and begin speaking in tongues. You may only have a few words but go ahead and speak those in faith, and others will follow. As you yield your tongue to the Spirit, you will begin to feel a wonderful release of the Spirit.

God will never force Himself on You

Luke 11:11-13 "You fathersif your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? [12] Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! [13] If you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him."

When I received the Holy Ghost, I am applying the resurrection of Christ to my life, making it effective in me!
11 (NKJV) But

if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:11 (NKJV)
