03 of 10 – The Solid Sky Dome

 The Sky is a solid Dome
1) The Sky is solid and can be rolled up or spread out.

2) There are Doors and Windows in the Sky (Genesis
7; 11 & 8:2 , Psalm 78:23)
3) There is a large body of water above the solid Sky

4) There are Chambers or Store rooms in the Sky.
(Psalm 104:3,13 , Psalm 19:4-6 Job 9:9, 37:9 ,
38:22, Jer 10:13 )
5) The Sky can be bent, torn or spread out (Psalm
144; 5 , 2 Sam 22: 10 , Isaiah 64: 1 , Isaiah 40:22)
6) There are Pillars holding up the Sky (Job 26:11 &
2 Sam 22: 8 )

the sky; the people below look as tiny as ants. He stretched out the sky like a
curtain, like a tent in which to live.” GNB

“He who sits enthroned above the circle of the Earth, the inhabitants of which
are like grasshoppers, stretches out the Heavens like a cloth, spreads them
out like a tent to live in.” JB

Genesis 1: 6 – 8 God creates the Sky
“And God said, "Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it
separate the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament and
separated the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which
were above the firmament. And it was so” RSV & KJV

“Then God commanded, "Let there be a dome to divide the water and to keep
it in two separate places"---and it was done. So God made a dome, and it
separated the water under it from the water above it.” GNB

“God said, "Let there be a vault through the middle of the waters to divide the
waters in two." And so it was. God made the vault, and it divided the waters
under the vault from the waters above the vault“ JB

“'And God went on to say: “Let an expanse come to be in between the waters
and let a dividing occur between the waters and the waters.” Then God
proceeded to make the expanse and to make a division between the waters

NB: Some translations such as the NTW here try and avoid the implication
that the Sky is solid by fudging the translation. Often some sort of lame
excuse is made that this is to correct an alleged translating error from Greek
or Latin tests.

However the Hebrew – English Jewish Bible is translated direct from Hebrew
as are most modern Bibles and it does not support this fudge. This translation
describes the Sky as a Firmament. This is related to the word “Firm” meaning
solid.

“And God said: 'Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it
divide the waters from the waters.'And God made the firmament, and divided
the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above
the firmament; and it was so. “ (HEJB)
